David is a great trainer. Very down to earth, not the typical holier-than-thou attitude you often see/hear about in working dog circles. He's patient with the dogs and even more patient with the owners (we're usually the real problem anyway). I have a female rescue Belgian Malinois (Ziba) and I went to David, in large part, because while I knew she needed more than what a typical part-time "hobby" trainer might do, I also knew she wasn't a true "hard" Malinois and wouldn't respond well to the style of training that those dogs typically require. David really nailed the right approach for her, as I've seen him do for many other breeds and temperaments. He tailors everything to YOUR dog and YOUR goals, which is something that distinguishes him from a lot of other trainers. Also, a lot of trainers are so secretive about techniques that you'd think they're working on the Manhattan Project but David is more than happy to "talk shop" with you. The fact that you get to train with your dog, as opposed to a typical board-and-train, is a rarity and has been a great experience for me. I searched for a long time to find a trainer who would be willing to teach me as well as Ziba. I've been working with him for about a year, and have met other owners who have worked with him for a decade, with multiple dogs. The proof is in the results and all of the dogs I've seen work with David are happy, obedient dogs and, as a result, their owners are happy and have good bonds with their dogs. They run the full gamut from serious, police-level Malinois/GSDs to happy-go-lucky pets. Whatever your goals/experience/skill level (or your dog's), David will get both of you to where you want to be.
