K9 University Dog Training OKC

Staff was unprofessional and rude, both to my dog and their own dog, who was present during our session as an "example" dog, repeatedly yelling at the dogs and yanking their leash/collars hard, to the point you could tell the dogs were in pain. They promote outdated training methods, like pinch collars and dominance theory, that caused our dog to get extremely scared and begin hiding (for the first time ever) out of fear of additional pain being inflicted on her. They made no attempt to form a relationship with our dog, immediately jerking her around and causing our normally friendly dog to react negatively with the trainers. While she is not perfectly behaved (and thus the impetus for training), they exacerbated her misbehavior through their correction techniques. Their services are also priced well above-market for a substandard product, in addition to their facility not being well-maintained.

A little over a year ago, we took our Rotty to K9 University for their Board and Train program. They did wonders with him. Over the past year, our pup flipped a switch and thought the real world was a scary place and was out to get him. It got so bad we could not take him anywhere outside of our property. I decided to bring him back to K9 University and have one on one sessions. We linked up with Chyanne and the first visit was crazy to say the least. Snickers didnt even make it through the door before going bonkers. During the initial session Chyanne tried everything and anything to get Snickers settled down but he was very spicy and having nothing of it. From there Chyanne gave me some pointers to ease his fear and work on things at home. Fast fwd a few weeks later and taking what Chyanne armed me with? We brought Snickers back for round 2. This time was a completely different session. He was not spicy, payed attention very alertly to everything in the room but with no reaction. They had another family and their dog in the room and Snickers paid him no mind. He was doing what he needed to and stying calm. Chyanne was even able to get close enough to toss him treats. I left that session feeling as if Snickers was a new pup and Chyanne even gave me more tips to work on. Fast fwd 1 month and I had alot work travel and was unable to work with Snickers all that much and was very anxious about the next session and that Snickers may resort back to his old tricks, to my shock he didn't. He had 1 instance of being spicy when they tried to get a reaction from him by banging on the door but after that he settled down and looked to Chyanne for more treats. Guess she is his treats dealer lol. All this to say my biggest concern was taking Snickers out in the real world. So decided to take him to vet where I could not previously do so. Again armed with what Chaynne taught me and helped with, I was able to bring him in with ZERO issues. And when I say zeron I meaning not a single issue as he even ignored 2 dogs in the office. Chyanne and K9 University have helped saved my pup and help him realize he is a good boy and the real world outside of our home is not scary place. Chayanne and crew are truly the best and I look forward to our next sessions.
