K9 Role Models

We adopted Benny at the beginning of the pandemic and he is a very sweet dog and a very anxious dog. He also took great joy in sprinting out of an open door and into the neighborhood. He would not allow anyone to get close enough to catch him and one time it took 8 terrifying hours before he returned home. That’s when we consulted K9 Role Models and met Jan and Vanessa. Benny went to the two week off-leash obedience boarding program and he returned to us a changed dog. We immediately noticed that he was more attentive to us, more confident in noisy spaces, and still our sweet, sweet boy. Jan was incredibly patient (and thorough!) with us as he taught us how to hold a leash properly and give cues that Benny could understand. Our job is now to stay consistent with Benny’s training. Vanessa is amazing!! My dog Yogi loves her like family 🤍 she may be a little farther from us distance wise, but I wouldn’t trust anybody else with Yogi. He’s a very anxious pup and he’s right at home with Vanessa when it comes to training or boarding. She’s done an amazing job shaping Yogi into an obedient dog while helping with his anxiety. We truly have the best dog ever because of Vanessa! I highly recommend Vanessa for your training, and boarding needs!

Being a German Shepherd owner comes with its’ own set of rewards and challenges. My puppy was insecure and reactive to children and after being attacked by 2 larger dogs at 4 months old, also became highly reactive to dogs. Working a 16 week, off-leash program together is what we both needed to build our confidence and give my Miska all the tools to be able to come anywhere with me. She now has zero reactivity and I have 100% confidence in her (and she returns that confidence in me)!! We are continuing with protection work now and this is just increasing her balance of obedience and drive. I cannot say enough about the skill, care, attention, and true devotion to what is best for you and your dog that Vannessa and Jan bring to the table. I am a customer for life and will never own a dog that isn’t a K9 Role Model.
