I have attended 3 of Robyn's workshops at Animal House Shelter in Huntley, Illinois. Robyn is passionate about sharing humane, scientifically supported, and effective tools to help your canine companion. She truly believes in understanding the "why" behind dog behavior so she can effectively design a treatment regime to normalize a dog's confidence and behavior. I have personally watched her positively change a dog's behavior without adverse methods because she is patient and understands the "why" of behaviors. We have watched her positively affect high energy dogs and shy/shut down dogs. She is more than a trainer, she is a gifted behaviorist that is generous with her knowledge and truly wants to make a positive impact in the lives of the dogs and dog guardians she works with during her sessions. I am very impressed with Robyn.

K9 Mama was amazing. I would highly recommend her services. I have learned a lot from her and how to read my pups behavior in just 3 visits. Amazing person, and great knowledge in dog behavior. She help me train 4 of my dogs (big dogs). Specially my little one that already had bitten me. She did a great job explaining stressful situations for my doggies and how to handle them and get them out that stressful state. Robyn answered my aggressive puppy S.O.S by video call. Robyn observed our pup along with our concerns. Our Labrador puppy was aggressive towards our four kids and myself. We realized we had trained our dog to behave this way and allowed our 3 year dog to help train pup as well. It was hard to take in this reality. I became overwhelmed and was suffering from ptsd of my kids being harmed at any given moment or myself by our puppy. Robyn to the rescue! In just one video session, Robyn gave my kids and me specific, relatable, and practical advice on how to train our puppy to become a neutral dog. It took consistency and extra effort on our part, but it stopped our dog’s aggression toward us. We had Robyn come into our home for 3 sessions & we learned vital dog owner information that will carry on into our kids’ lives. Our resources: time & money were well worth it to have a neutral dog.

We adopted our three-year-old rescue last year and were hoping certain behaviors would fade with time, but they actually started getting worse. I was specifically looking for a behavioral trainer in McHenry County who comes to your home for private sessions — not an obedience trainer — and someone who didn’t use harsh methods. I was thrilled to find Robyn, who uses positive reinforcement and force-free methods even for aggressive behaviors. I booked one workshop with her and was honestly nervous it wouldn’t be enough to help me understand my dog’s aggressive behaviors and anxiety. But after our first session, we’ve had transformative results. I can’t thank her enough. My dog was aggressive, had leash reactivity, resource guarding, and underlying anxiety. Now both he and I are so much more comfortable in those situations. He was actually able to walk past another dog during that first session. It was crazy — usually he’s yanking me, pulling, and my heart’s racing. He also used to resource guard his toys. If you got close, he’d get tense, growl, and even bark a little. Robyn taught me methods for counter conditioning using positive reinforcement, and it was absolutely incredible to see my dog’s response. He now voluntarily and willingly lets me take the toy and give it back. Robyn helped me see things so much more clearly. The results were absolutely incredible. I highly, highly recommend reaching out to Robyn if you’re struggling with any sort of behavioral challenges. You won’t be disappointed.
