K9 Guide Dog Training

Today Yume turns 1 year old, and we wanted to take a moment to share how grateful we are to Yana and Collin for everything they have done for her. We are located near Pittsburgh, PA, and finding the right trainer for our German Shepherd was very important to us. From the very beginning, Yana was incredibly supportive, helpful, and always there to answer our questions and guide us throughout the entire journey. After 4 weeks of Board & Train, the transformation in Yume has been truly amazing. She came back more confident, focused, and well-behaved while still being the same loving and playful dog we know and love. A special thanks to Collin for the incredible work he did with Yume. It was clear that they built a very special bond. Yume truly loved spending time with him, and the trust, patience, and connection between them were amazing to see. He helped bring out the best in her. What we appreciated most is that Yana and Collin didn’t just train Yume — they helped us understand how to better communicate with her and continue building on everything she learned. We are extremely thankful that we found K9Guide Dog Training. Their dedication, care, and passion for dogs truly stand out. Great staff, dedicated and effective training. We have a 4 year old male Aussie who came from a farm. Great dog, super smart but we needed some help and guidance. We did the 4 week training. Upon completion of that, Collin came to our house without the dog first to train us and what’s to come when Cliff returned home. That was super helpful and set us up for success. Not only that, they are direct with their feedback to us humans too as it turned out the real problem was us not giving the dog what he needed as far as directions. They provided us with the direction and now we have the tools we needed. If your willing to learn your self and be consistent, the training is effective and the dog will want to work for you, that’s at least our experience!

I don’t even know where to begin…every experience we have had with K9 guide just gets better and better. We experienced exemplary communication with Yana and Jimmie from the start. Both of them made it a point to fully explain everything - exactly how training would go, pricing, and everything to expect after our puppy came home. We knew just what was happening at every turn. My husband and I decided on the four week board and train for our energetic and daring Doberman puppy. Jimmie and Collin did such amazing work with her…it was truly a 180. We went from having an escape artist who loved to destroy our carpet, steal food from the table, and knock our kids down, to a perfect family pet that is excited to follow the rules and that our children can’t wait to play with every day. I was nervous about having her come home at first because it was daunting not being sure if we could replicate what they do, but the at-home training sessions with Collin for both my husband and I, as well as our kids has made it so easy to truly understand all of the nuances of utilizing the training. Collin has been so great to work with. He’s understanding and realistic and took the time to teach the kids the best way to play with her. It’s been an absolute lifesaver working with the entire team at K9 and I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you all so much for everything and for taking such good care of Pom Pom and us!

11/10 experience. Collin and Yana have been extremely knowledgeable and patient in guiding me through owning a Dutch Shepherd with a difficult history. What started as an impossible situation for me has turned into real progress — for both me and Toby. Not only do they work with Toby, but they train me (zero prior working dog experience) to be someone who can be comfortable working with him. Couldn’t recommend them more highly.
