K9 Country Club

Took my pup to the K9 Country Club for the boarding, training and classes as well. And can't say how happy I am, because my puppy started to be a really good boy. It is still a proccess, a long one, of course, but after few training session with Micah he learned a lot and had so much progress. Staff here is really helpful and always ready to ask about all the questions and giving an update when you board your pup. Love it!

I took my pup to K9 Country Club on three occasions, hoping for quality training and care. Unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. During her second visit, my pup contracted canine COVID, though we initially mistook the symptoms for allergies. By her third visit, my husband’s service dog became severely ill, requiring a vet visit where he tested positive for Canine COVID. My pupwas also tested the very next day. Both dogs, who hadn’t interacted with others outside K9 Country Club, were unable to work due to their illness, and the vet bills totaled $700. At the final visit, I noticed serious issues. While waiting for my pup, I spoke with a client whose dogs were supposedly ones that helped skittish pups with socialization. However, when her dogs were brought out, they were terrified, one even trying to bolt while the other cowered in fear. It was wild the way this woman praised the progress of her dogs and that it only took them a year to get them to where they are now. This made me question the care and socialization provided. To make matters worse, my pup came home with food in another dog's used baggie, and they didn’t use the training treats I provided nor the food bowl i sent. I had put peanut butter in the bowl to entice her to eat there. That night, she peed in her bed for the first time ever and the next morning, she ran upstairs and pooped on the floor—behavior completely out of character for her. I suspect she spent most of the day kenneled, despite expectations of at minimum socialization with other dogs. It took a week to retrain her for the kennel, even though she had been kennel-trained for six months. The facility’s cleanliness, especially considering canine COVID, is also concerning. Additionally, my dog, who was already nervous around people, is now terrified of people in wheelchairs. Not only did she not progress, she back tracked tremendously. I suppose this is why they "prefer" you board & train so you can't monitor any mistreatment. Since leaving K9 Country Club, my pup has thrived at another facility, attending day camps and group training. The difference in her behavior is like night and day. It’s disheartening that Micah hasn’t followed up since we stopped going, and no one from the facility has contacted me, despite it being almost a month since the last visit, we referred there and the "training plan" we had. After everything we’ve been through, I cannot recommend K9 Country Club.
