K9 Adventure Club

I first started taking my Mom's dog Cherokee to K9 Adventure Club free weekly walking club about 4 months ago. My Mom was undergoing chemo at the time so her dog wasn't able to get out for walks as much as they both would have liked. I saw the walking club advertised and thought it would be great way for Cherokee to get some exercise, socialize and work on walking manners. This has quickly turned into something all three of us look forward to every Sunday (Mom is now able to join most weeks as well...yay). Cullin and Caitlin couldn't be more welcoming and somehow just have this calm energy about them that is felt by all in attendance. Walks can have upwards of 30 -50+ dogs, but everyone and every dog is so cool about it, it's like it's no big deal. Again, I think a large part of this is the energy and vibes Cullin and Caitlin bring. Cullin somehow knows all the dogs names almost immediately after meeting them. Caitlin usually leads the walks and Cullin gets his exercise milling about and making sure everyone is happy and doing well. As an introvert myself, seeking out large groups is not usually my thing, but K9 Adventure Club makes it easy to just be yourself. People are friendly, but also respectful an give other dogs and their owner's space. There is a table with treats for the dogs, poop bags in case you run out and waters/electrolyte drinks for the humans. On Mother's Day all the women were presented with a carnation. K9 Adventure club provides the kind of customer service that is hard to come by. As a bonus, my Mom, Cherokee and I have discovered a variety of great places to walk over the past 4 months; Stark Park, Derryfield Park, Memorial Field/ State Office Park in Concord and today's adventure at Arthur Donati Memorial Field in Hooksett. The walks are free, but donations are accepted but never expected, and you don't even have to have a dog to attend. We have such a blast walking with the Community Walking Club. Our newly adopted dog was in desperate need of socialization - this is the perfect experience for her. Every week, she becomes more comfortable with other dogs and people. The routes are always well thought out and the people are so friendly and understanding of our dog's needs. Suki loves the treats that are waiting for her at the tent. We look forward to this every Sunday!
