We took our Bassett there for a grooming and he walked out looking proud. This was our first time and from our first phone call for appointment to the time we picked him up everyone was so nice and friendly. And the price was great. For a short legged hound dog he walked out tall and proud. This is a place that does value their customers . Will be going back regularly. Thank you K-9

The care and attention our dog got during his stay there was outstanding. So much so that he didn’t want to be taken home.

I was really worried about leaving my doggies especially my Tiana as she is iffy with people she don't know but the staff was excellent with all 3 of them, always fast response when I had a question or just to call and check in, missy also sent plenty of pictures which help ease my mind. Thank you K9.5 for your excellent service we will definitely be back for our boarding needs

I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of sympathy, professionalism, and accountability from k9.5 today. I took my dog to get groomed for his 10th birthday today at k9.5. When I picked him up - this is how they handed him off to me (see photos below). Not a single worker said anything about his appearance. It was like they almost expected me and my partner not to notice that our dog had lost an incredible amount of hair and is so red - he looks like he is bleeding. I was in complete shock at his appearance, because just three hours earlier, my dog was a fluffy healthy looking husky who just needed a simple de-shed and bathing. I thought this would be a nice spa day for his birthday. I immediately asked the team at the front desk what happened to him and why his hair is missing and why his skin is breaking out in splotches. He looked very uncomfortable and was licking at his skin. The front desk attendant became defensive pretty quickly after I asked about his condition. She stated that she noticed when bathing him he started losing his hair, but she continued with the groom anyway.. I asked her if she brushed him too hard or if he had an allergic reaction and what kind of soap she used. She brought out the soap and muttered under her breath sarcastically that she would have used the hyper-allergenic brand if she knew he was allergic to regular soap… I did not appreciate her lack of concern and her tone used towards my partner and I. It was like she trying to put the blame on us as owners. I want to preface that my dog has NEVER had any allergic reaction to anything in his 10 years of life. Especially not to any soaps. I proceeded to tell her my dog is 10 years old and has been professionally bathed by many dog groomers throughout his life. We just moved to Terre Haute and had a good experience boarding our pups with k9.5 here in the last few months - so we didn’t think anything would go badly by getting our dogs groomed here. After talking to the manager, she recommended us to go to the vet to get him checked out if we were so concerned about his condition. It is a Sunday… and there are no vets open in town.. She told us the rash could have come from his harness he was wearing… there is absolutely no way this came from his harness. If it had - he would have broken out and lost hair months ago. He has had the same harness for over a year… We were then asked by the other groomer if we kept him in the sun because it looked like a sunburn… our dog is a Siberian Husky… he is 10 years old… he only goes outside to potty quickly and comes inside. He does not like the heat, nor would we ever leave him in the sun for long periods of time. Once again, it felt like the team was trying to put the blame on us as the owners for the condition they left him in, rather than taking accountability for their mistake. If my dog truly had an allergic reaction to their products, a simple call to explain to us what happened prior to picking him up would have eased our concerns. My dog was there for FOUR hours. There was plenty of time for them to contact me if there was a concern. They tried to argue that they didn’t notice until we picked our dogs up, but the attendant at the front desk told us originally that she noticed this all happening while bathing him hours prior.. I think the most upsetting part of this entire thing was the lack of sympathy. Not once did anyone apologize for the condition they left him in. Not once did anyone say they weren’t going to charge us for this “service”. Instead I had to argue that i was not going to pay $100 for this groom. We ended up leaving the facility in tears. This is not how any animal nor customer should be treated. I am at a total loss. We are currently re-bathing our dog at home with warm water to try to get his skin to calm down.
