We got our Rottweiler, Onyx, a little under five years ago. He recently passed away, and I want to start by saying his temperament was amazing. He loved everyone, was incredibly intelligent, gentle, and deeply loving. Unfortunately, he had several genetic health issues. He developed cherry eye in both eyes at a young age, and around age three he was diagnosed with PLE. He also suffered from multiple food allergies (including chicken, rice, beef, and corn) and epileptic seizures. He fought for two years after his PLE diagnosis, but sadly the disease ultimately won. Even at the end, he remained the sweetest dog. We miss him dearly and will always love him.

We bought a female golden puppy in July and when she turned 8 months old her hip was dislocated. Like other reviews mentioned, as she grew past 6 months her x rays showed luxated hips. Every vet told us this was a genetic problem. Our puppy is now 11 months old and we have spent $5,000 just to fix the first hip. We adore our puppy and will do anything for her. But what type of human breeds dogs knowing that they will have genetic problems as puppies? Please save yourself the heartache and AVOID this “breeder” that could care less about dogs.

We got an amazing Rottweiler from Lynn about 7 years ago. He was smart and gorgeous. The problem was he had undiagnosed diabetes that was discovered when he developed pancreatic cancer. Because there is thought to be a hereditary link to diabetes and some cancers, I hope that anyone who gets a dog from this breeder has their dog screened for diabetes. He was an amazing dog, as I said before, and I miss him every day. My heart is still broken over losing him. Please, if you get a dog from this breeder have them periodically screened for diabetes so it can be treated and managed. I have since changed vets for my other dog because the vet we were using just kept saying “Rottweilers have sensitive stomachs” rather than actually trying to figure out what was wrong with him. It’s obviously not the breeders fault that my old vet was terrible, the lower star count is only about potential genetic links to diabetes.
