K-9 Parabellum - Training, Grooming & Daycare

I have two dogs that I rescued when they were puppies still. Luther my bluenose pitty has always had some issues with children, and dogs since he was young. He's such a lovable and goofy guy at home but when dogs rub him the wrong way he becomes so defensive and aggressive. I had been looking for a place that had experienced trainers that have dealt with dogs like him before. Most trainers we have tried have been scared or found him to be too aggressive. With our other dog he's totally fine and this is why we never found the right fit for a trainer until now. Luther has had such a turn around since going to K-9 Parabellum! He can now be his happy goofy self outside with other dogs without becoming anxious or aggressive. And is now calm and less anxious with children. It truly has made such a difference in our lives. I can see he seems more happy and secure. I have continued the training I was shown and feel so comfortable and confident with what I have learned! Thank you so much for what you do! I'm so glad I found you to help us with Luther. If you're looking for someone with lots of training and experience that gives support and proper attention to your pup then I would say K-9 Parabellum is the best I have found in the county! No regrets here :)

'Vivo' was severely reactive from the day I adopted him at only six months old. People, dogs, cats, strollers, bicycles and pretty much any moving thing would make him lunge and bark uncontrollably. The mere sight of a dog a football field away would set him off. It got to the point that I would use two collars, and two leashes and would walk him late at night, early in the morning or in very isolated areas. Interestingly, when at home with me he was the happiest, most affectionate, most playful thing you ever saw! That is the only reason I kept him. However, I had become a captive to his reactivity out of doors. I took him to several trainers, known and unknown, but Vivo seemed to scare them. He failed to graduate from a couple of group classes because proximity to other dogs was just too much for him. The last trainer he saw was someone who had trained Orcas at a famous marine park and has quite the online following. To my surprise, he also got scared when Vivo (with a muzzle on) tried to bite him three times. He couldn't handle him either and handed me the leash and took me into his office. All he could do was prescribe a costly board and train and he assured me that the progress would be slow. He intimated that this might be the wrong dog for me. One day by pure happenstance I met Jay outside a dog park. He had a couple of those Malinois dogs, off-leash, and under complete control. This drew my attention and I began to talk to him about my dog. Jay was going to be my last hope if he took on the challenge. I decided to give training one last try. Jay is totally in his element when working with problem dogs. He worked with Vivo for a few days and helped him turn a huge corner. Today, Vivo is a different dog. He is completely obedience trained, off-leash and on leash and I take him everywhere. We go to the park every morning, running at the beach when possible, bike riding and long-distance fetch. I self-wash him at Petco and have also boarded him for a week during my vacation. This dog, through Jay's initial help and the structure/training protocol he gave me, has come to care more about what I expect from him than what he feels like doing. People often compliment me on his behavior when we are out and about. If needed I believe he will still protect me but he is not on the warpath 24/7 like before. He has even been bitten (not bad) by two other loose dogs but fortunately he didn't bite them back. This is all I wanted and it is a beautiful thing!
