What is the average length of stay for your Board & Train program?
The average is approximately 2.5 to 3 weeks. Most dogs require more time because by the time the dog owner is calling us, the behaviors have usually gotten pretty bad. We aim to reassure our clients that we provide regular video progress updates as their dog advances through our program.

Do your board & train programs include follow-up lessons?
Yes! There are a total of 4 follow-up lessons included with our program. The first one is completed when you pick up your dog. The remaining 3 must be completed within 2 weeks of picking up your dog. Each session is approximately 20 to 30 minutes but also varies according to the questions being asked.

Every dog is unique and a number of factors would have to be considered including history, temperament, drives, reactivity, who the handlers are, and what the dogs are being trained for, to name a few considerations.

We offer board and training with four follow-up lessons at our facility. We also offer certain specialized private lessons at our facility for those competing in the sport of Schutzhund.
We occasionally offer in-home training for our existing clients who have already completed one of our board & train programs but require additional specialized assistance for their pets that we are already familiar with.

I had my puppy Dobermann work with John and the experience was excellent. We decided on board and train and it was well worth it! I would do it all over again if I had to. I highly recommend, 5 star all the way. I drove an hour and half based on the recommendations and it was certainly worth it!

John is great! We brought in our Germsn Shepherd for boarding and she came back after 5 weeks with her usual spirit and silliness, but listening to the basic comands. Walking her now is a breeze compared to before! When we came for the weekend sessions she would be visibly happy to see John and his team. Absolutely recommended!

John’s training program was nothing short of amazing for our pup! My husband and I sent our 14 month old pit-mix, Artie, to John’s board and train program. We adopted Artie when he was 7 months old and even though he was always a sweet dog, he had never lived in a home before, didn’t know his own strength and had a TON of misdirected energy. With a newborn at home, this was a big problem. We couldn’t have guests come through the door or sit on the couch without getting jumped on and we had to watch Artie constantly because he chewed and ate any and everything.
Artie went to John’s board and train program for 5 weeks. It was so hard for us to leave him and despite everything, we really missed Artie at home. John kept us updated with videos and was responsive when we reached out to check-in. Artie did take time to settle in with John and his staff, as he’s always had a bit of separation anxiety, but after a few days we saw the progress immediately in his videos. When Artie returned home, he was a changed dog! He was finally able to relax in the house without constantly chewing, jumping or counter surfing. This was not only great for us, but Artie also seemed much happier, content and less anxious.
We had several follow-up sessions with John where he taught us how to continue Artie’s training. The bond John created with Artie was noticeable at every training session we had together. Artie loved to be around him and often looked to John for direction! John taught us so much about our dog, and our household is much happier (and more calm) for it! Even months after training, John is always helpful in answering any training questions we have, as we continue to learn just how smart our little pup really is! Thank you John!!
