We don't really know how to adequately express the gratitude for the gift that Joe gave us. Having had an English Mastiff in the past who was easy, Mugzy, our 8-month Mastiff, became a challenge. From a puppy we had attempted to do all the right things by "the book", TV and other costly avenues. We were exhausted from failure. From the moment we met Joe at "the meet and greet", we knew we had found the answer. Joe speaks "DOG" and "HUMAN". Joe is a "people" person. We couldn't wait to start. Mugzy got a fun-filled week of "pack-living" and we got a chance to reset, get caught up, and relax after 6 months of raising our poorly-mannered "beast" of a puppy. During that week we got daily updates, reports and pictures, which helped put us at ease. At the end of the week, Joe took the time to demonstrate, answer questions and train us how to be the leaders of "our pack". Mugzy came back to us fit and happy. We had made the commitment and after 1 week home, our house is much more filled with peace and happiness, including/especially Mugzy. To other pet parents reading this, you need to understand that one size doesn't fit all with dog training. A treat-training class once-a-week might work on some, but not all. And if you aren't getting trained yourself to perform the task, you are throwing money away on the class and 100 pounds of expensive treats. Every canine is different, just like each human is different. Joe takes the time to know the dog and speak to it, figure out what the dog needs and responds to. If you think you know everything already, don't waste Joe's time. While we made it complicated, it's not as complicated as you think. Open your mind, and let Joe teach you. In our case, it wasn't the dog's inefficiencies, it was ours. Don't get us wrong, not all is perfect after a week, it is now up to us. Tammy my young husky misses him. Tomorrow a German Shepherd comes for training. He is just plain crazy with energy. He jumps and bites and a few other things that we will clear up this week. Joe helped us become the pack leaders our dog, needed us to be! I felt confident our boy was in good hands with Joe and we enjoyed the updates/photos we received via text message throughout the week. He came back to us as a more attentive, leader-focused and well-behaved dog. Joe also demonstrated the techniques to use in “leading” our dog and provided us a written evaluation of our dog, along with a list of commands to use. The first time you talk to Joe, you know he truly has found his calling and loves what he does. I would hands down recommend Joe’s Training to anyone and we look forward to boarding our guy with him in the near future!
