This organization and its partners failed my family in a way that is deeply concerning. My husband is a combat veteran and former law enforcement officer who completed the application process for a service dog in good faith. We were told funding had been secured, contracts were completed, and we were waiting on a match. Shortly afterward, the organization abruptly rescinded support after my husband expressed personal political views on his private Facebook account—views that were unrelated to the organization, its mission, or his conduct as a client. He was explicitly told that his political opinions were a problem. Using political beliefs as a basis for denying services—especially to disabled veterans—is inappropriate and unethical. This organization demonstrated a lack of professionalism, transparency, and understanding of how a 501(c)(3) should operate. The emotional harm caused by raising expectations and then withdrawing support without legitimate cause is significant. Veterans deserve better than this.
