I recently took my German Shepherd puppy to Jax River Dog for a boarding test, hoping to leave him there while I visited family. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of disappointing. I was told that my puppy needed to pass the boarding test, so I paid for 2-3 days of daycare, hoping he'd eventually meet the requirements. The staff kept telling me that he was "almost there" and would "pass the next daycare day." This went on for several days, and all I did was keep paying for daycare, only to be told on the very last day that he did horribly and they couldn’t board him. To make matters worse, the front desk staff and anyone I spoke with on the phone were incredibly rude. I was also told there were 24-hour cameras recording, and I was able to see any footage. When I asked multiple times to see footage of my dog, I was given the runaround and never received it—despite asking 3 times. I wasn’t allowed to see where they were taking him, either, which left me feeling even more uneasy about the whole situation. After this awful experience, I took my puppy to Rainier Dog Resort and Spa in Renton for another boarding test. He passed on the FIRST day, and I received 5 photo updates within just one day of daycare. He ate all his food, had his toys in his kennel (which Jax did not do, I know this because the plastic wrap was still on my dog’s bone when I picked him up…) It was such a positive experience at Rainier Dog Resort and Spay, compared to the frustrating and unprofessional treatment at Jax River Dog. I sincerely hope Jax River Dog improves its customer service and communication, as my experience was incredibly stressful for both me and my dog.
