Jane Trains

For a variety of reasons I had never gotten around to training my dog Furi. She was difficult to handle and was impossible at the vet; she fought with my other dogs - resulting in visits to the vet; didn’t listen and would run off in an instant; among other things. Anyway, I now will say Jane successfully trained both me and Furi! Much of Furi’s behavior was because she was a fear based dog. Jane taught me to recognize Furi’s signs of fear and how to react and how not to react to it. We worked with Jane for two sets of training. In between lessons I spent maybe 5-10 minutes a day working the last “lesson” and then just in general started to incorporate what I learning into my “relationship” with my dog. Results? EXTREMELY successful. My dog and I are closer than we ever have been and many of her issues have been resolved. I always knew she was smart, and I always knew she was sensitive but she was smarter and more sensitive than I ever perceived. She never played and now plays all the time. She responded well to the training and is so much easier to handle because I understand her behavior. I cannot say enough about the empathy Jane had for my dog and how much she worked with both of us and the results are there. I had used another trainer and had no success, but this time I had the right trainer! Would highly recommend! 9/2023 I want to update my review! A friend visited me this weekend and was shocked how friendly Furi was. She admitted that she used to so afraid to even pet the dog. Furi jumped Right up on the sofa next to my friend! My friend said she would welcome Furi at her home anytime if I needed a dog sitter. Janes training is amazing and long lasting! Thanks again Jane for your transformation of my old girl Furi!!!!!

I had an amazing experience working with Jane. I was expecting typical dog “training”, ‘sit’, ‘stay’, etc., but Jane taught me so much more! I’ve never had a behavioral training class and it was exactly what I me and my boys needed! Jane gave me great tools and recommendations and we are working on addressing the issues my boys had instead of “training” over them. I highly recommend using Jane Trains!

We purchased a set of 6 sessions for our nearly 2 yr old mix breed cattle dog, Rudy, that we rescued from a shelter. I was truly impressed with the knowledge and level of detail conveyed in every class. The lessons were more than just working commands and repetition but specific to understanding Rudy’s demeanor, personality, breed specific traits and development as a rescue pup. The lessons empowered me with skills and understanding that apply to his overall well being and continued training. Jane’s training is a solid 5 stars.

We’ve had 8 lessons with Jane for us and our puppy. Jane has been wonderful to work with, and we have all learned so much. Jane is a great trainer and customizes each lesson to your situation and your dogs personality and behavior. Our puppy comes away from every lesson with improved behavior and we come away with tools for continuing the training. This has been a great investment of our time and money. Many thanks to Jane!

Jane is so knowledgeable and able to provide answers and exercises to rehab the most traumatized dogs who come from unknown backgrounds. Be prepared for straight up truths and uncommon wisdom and insight. Jane is hard core with not causing further harm or trauma to the animal. "Discipline" is not a technique. "Conditioning" is. If you are ready and willing to be trained yourself as your pet's caregiver, Jane is the BEST source you can turn to. You must be committed to her lessons and humble enough to be willing to be taught something new. If you find a suggested technique doesn't work with your personal groove, tell her; she will customize exercises for you and your dog that fit your lifestyle. Our two rescue girls, Mocha and Grape, made remarkable progress and we'll continue with the practice. Can't recommend her enough!
