J Mac K-9 Dog Training

Our 7 month old Pitbull mix, Rico, was developing aggressive and anxious behavior. Our Vet recommended J Mac dog training. We visited John for a free consult with the thoughts we would bring him out for training weekly. John took the time to explain our different options and his recommendations. He left the options open, and a week later, our puppy Rico went to board and train with J Mac. Two weeks later we got the call that he was ready to come home. We had the opportunity to watch him show his skills with Melanie and we were amazed. Melanie taught us how to give Rico the commands, and she has been responsive when we have reached out to ask questions. Rico is a different dog; he listens to commands, wants to please, and can down-stay in many different places despite physical and auditory distractions. Rico's training has allowed us to have a much calmer relationship and he has been able to show us his loving, sweet side. We can't thank Melanie and John enough for training Rico and supporting us to keep these skills (training us). I would highly recommend J Mac dog training.

We adopted a 6 month old puppy from a rescue and she had absolutely no training whatsoever, no idea how to walk on a leash, if she had ever seen one, completely ignored us when we attempted to train her on some basic commands with not even a little progress. We were referred by some neighbors who raved about J Mack and so I checked them out. We decided on the in house board and train. 4 weeks later we went to pick her up, and she walked beautifully on the leash, only had 2 accidents that day we brought her home, slept in her crate through the night, and did well with most of the commands she was taught. It was a true transformation, and John and Melanie both taught us a lot, offered support whenever we needed it. Always available for support, advice, and pep talks. If you have more than 1 dog, I would recommend talking with them about it to assist with the re-introduction after training is over. All in all, they were great and supportive, we learned a ton from them.

Nothing short of AMAZING! I absolutely do not write reviews ever. Maybe three in 20 years of being with google but they deserve a good honest review. I brought my families Dobie Gunner to John and Melanie to be trained as it was much needed. He was extremely anxious, disobedient and I would go as far as saying a bully (wouldnt respect their space and climb/jump on them) to the ladies in the house. Plain and simple wouldnt listen and when he did it was very brief. John was honest and upfront with the concerns about the dog prior to training. We left him to stay there. He had got sick and we were notified of everything that was going on while he was there if there was a problem. They took the time to nurse him back to health and continue his training. We got the call after 6/7 weeks of him being away. The family was nervous to get him back. Would we get the same old dog back when we get home? Will we have to get rid of him? When we arrived Melanie spoke to us and put on a little exhibit of what he learned. We were so excited and alot of our fears were washed away. She proceeded to give us a period of instruction on his commands, the do's and donts and a cheat sheet to go home with. Weve had him home for a couple weeks now and he is a COMPLETELY different dog in every good way imagined. We do continue to put some time in with him every day with him and Melanie and John are always a ohone call away. She has helped us via phine calls already a couple times. If your dog needs obedience training or any training they offer I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking it to the J MAC K-9. Very impressed with everything they have done for us and they are good honest people. If there were more than five stars I would rate them higher. Thank you!

AMAZING!!! Worth every penny. You call and schedule a free consultation where they meet your dog and talk to you about the different packages that they have. You pick what’s best for you and they are super flexible with appointments! I have a crazy work schedule and they are super understanding. My 7 month old Australian shepherd Cassie was very timid and cautious of strangers and was not able to control her energy at all. Our trainer Mel worked wonders with her! She took the time to have Cassie warm up to her with lots of treats and goochie goos. After the first couple sessions, Cassie was sooo excited to see Mel again! Cassie is now able to control her energy, LOVES meeting strangers, is great on the leash, and we honestly have such a better relationship. She’s confident in herself and loves learning new things. Mel was incredible with teaching Cassie AND myself. I learned so much. Not only do you pay for the lessons, but you can call J Mac any time for the rest of your dogs life with any problems or concerns and meet with them for another training session at no cost. I recommend them to everyone I know!
