Intelligent K9 Dog Training

CJ was awesome with my dog Ellie! We did the two week board and train program, and before that it was stressful trying to walk my dog! After getting her back it was like night and day! No issues with trying to walk her any more, just small adjustments on my part that CJ helped me to correct. She also had other issues like barking, door dashing, jumping on people and becoming overly excited when visitors would come over. CJ helped with all of that! I appreciated how responsive CJ was and he always answered any questions I had. I also like that he is realistic about what training is going to be like. You can’t just expect to put your dog in a training program and then ‘poof’ all their bad mannerisms are gone overnight. CJ and his team set the foundation for your dog, but you as the owner also need to put in the work and be consistent with practicing. Over all, I’m beyond ecstatic with how Ellie’s behavior has changed, and it’s nice knowing that I’ll have their ongoing support through phone or email AND YouTube videos if any issues ever do come up! I had Intelligent K9 train my boxer puppy about a year ago and am very pleased with the results. My original goal was to have a well behaved pet I could leave off leash while at the river, running, and hiking. We are gone a lot so keeping her training up has been difficult but she remembers everything she has been taught and is still thriving. Today we managed to hang out at the river. No leash! And she comes when calls. I never would have imagined she would respond so well! I highly recommend these guys if you have a pet that needs trained!

CJ is AMAZING! I moved to CA over the summer with my 2 daughters and my 1 year old lab mix rescue, Sully. I knew when I got here I wanted to put Sully in a training program. Our main problem was getting him to walk on the leash without pulling. He also was very distracted when walking which made it hard for us to take him anywhere and he was a jumper! He would jump all over the kids and guests. First we went to another trainer and left him there for 21 days, which was quite expensive. When we got him back he didn’t seem to have learned much. We were taught to use a correction collar and I felt like we were yanking poor Sully all over the place. So after we got Sully home his behavior went right back to how he was before, even keeping up with the training It wasn’t the right fit for our dog. On a whim my girls and I ended up at the Carlsbad street fair where we found Intelligent K9. We spoke with Sarah and she was so great at explaining how CJ and his team work with the dogs. I especially liked how the training was all done in real world settings, not just at a center. So I agreed to give it one last shot and see if CJ could train Sully and it was worth every cent! Sully went to live with CJ for 14 days and he came back Sully 2.0! He was still the lovable, sweet dog that left and even better version when he came back! We are now able to take him everywhere with us, my kids can walk him outside, we can go to the park and he doesn’t get distracted by a lot of kids or dogs. I am so happy I found Intelligent K9 and CJ, we even had to go out of town for a few days and we were able to board with them and Sully was so excited to go. I would highly recommend CJ from Intelligent K9.

CJ and the Intelligent K9 team are amazing! My chocolate lab was bitten by a dog on his walk a few years back. From that point on, walking him was extremely difficult. He would pull and lunge whenever another dog came into his line of site. With CJ’s help, he now walks like a champ and is great at ignoring other dogs. In addition, he no longer tries to run out the front door, and sits nicely in his “place”. We could not be happier, and highly recommend Intelligent K9 Training.

Exceptional is the only word I can use to describe our experience with Intelligent K9 Dog Training. Before our dog Cody had training he was aggressive towards house guests and was very difficult to control on a leash. After training with CJ for 2 weeks Cody was like a new dog. When guests rang our door bell he would sit attentively and quietly. When we walk Cody now he doesn't pull on the leash and is very obedient. CJ is an excellent trainer and is very professional, prompt, and courteous. He has called us several times and returned to our house for numerous follow up training sessions.
