Innovative K9 Academy

Our experience with Innovative K9 has been nothing short of amazing. Our Australian Shepherd puppy went through the puppy to Dream Dog program. When she came home she was by far the most obedient and trained dog we’ve ever had, at only 6 months old! Now that she’s out of training, we use Innovative K9 whenever we need to board her, which is a huge perk because they reinforce her training everytime she goes in. If you want to have a well behaved dog, this is the company you need to work with, they are the best in Utah hands down!

I’m going to be honest. You don’t know what a well behaved dog looks like until you’ve seen a dog David’s team has trained. There’s a good dog, and then there’s Innovative K-9 level. We had a high strung, reactive (but friendly) poodle who was THE WORST on a leash (made us hate walking him) barked at every knock and ring, jumped up on people, had no boundaries etc. It was stressful bringing him anywhere because it was like babysitting a toddler. We heard about David through a friend of ours who got an incredible Belgian Malanois from him and didn’t realize he also trained “normal” dogs too. When we realized he did we booked his teams services immediately. Upon pickup, our dog Scout was a new dog. A dog that was so much more enjoyable and easy to be with and take out. From day one out of David’s training he heels without a leash to our leg like Velcro. He doesn’t bark at the door or new stimuli. Auto sits when we stall and does not move. When we aren’t actively engaged with him we tell him “bed” and he goes to his place bed in the living room until we invite him somewhere else. He has a new sense of calm he didn’t have before that we really love. People who come over and see his behavior are floored and asked immediately if we got him trained and then ask where at. We happily tell everyone about this program and have had several friends do it as well with the same results. How fun is it to take your dog for a walk leash free and know for a fact he’s going to stay right next to you no matter what??? You don’t know how nice that is until you have it. David understands dogs. He understands fundamental behaviorism and is able to yield incredible results because of it. There could be no greater investment than this if you have a dog in your home.

It is with great pleasure that we highly recommend Innovated K-9 Academy. Joseph was Spencer and Sadie’s lead trainer and it was obvious he was extremely dedicated to his job. He went the extra mile to share numerous videos of their progress throughout their training. His attention to detail was top notch. It was comforting to know our pups were in the best care. Joseph always welcomed our calls and explained in detail the training that had been accomplished. Thank you Joseph for everything you taught Spencer and Sadie! Thank you David for everything as well!
