Indigo Dog Training

Our dog's name is Jumanji and Jumanji is half Black Lab and half Beagle. Jumanji is a rescue dog and has a wonderfully joyous and enthusiastic view of live. In some ways, Jumanji is a lot more fun than we anticipated when we adopted her and Jumanji needed help if she was going to live out an extended life. We had already raised and trained dogs for a service dog organization, but Jumanji's zest for life was beyond our ability to convert to our residential environment. We needed specific help with Jumanji responding to recall commands so that she would stop running out in to traffic and chasing off after alluring scents. Jumanji also was very difficult to walk on leash and was a serious tripping hazard for her 70+ year old owners. It was also difficult for Jumanji to meet any person or other canine without overwhelming the interaction. As you might also guess, Jumanji is so full of enthusiasm that when we were in the house we could not leave her alone in any room because of the certainty of Jumanji's random and destructive activities. A very competent trainer that worked with a nationally known canine service organization saw Jumanji and then told us that Jumanji's issues were more than she was equiped to deal with and recommended we look for a "stay-away" trainer. After some research, we went with Indigo and we could not be happier with the results. Jumanji is so fun and enjoyable to be with after coming back from Indigo. Jumanji's recall is virtually perfect in every situation. Indigo worked with us to develop a way of taking Jumanji for walks that really works for all of us, both Jumannji and her owners. Jumanji also learned from her time at Indigo that she could calm herself in her "place" with her own toys and not be destructive in the house. To say that we are pleased, happy and satisfied with Indigo's training program is an understatement. Jumanji's character has not changed and she is still a happy and enthusiastic dog. What has changed is that a lot of the stress in Jumanji's life and her owner's lives have been alleviated and Jumanji's wake of destructive behavior has dissipated. The Indigo staff is very caring, competent, and wonderful to work with in the training process and insightful in crafting solutions to behavioral problems. We highly recommend them!
