Cheryl is a highly competent, patient, and gentle dog trainer, and both our dogs love her (and always look forward to getting a tidbit from her treat pouch)! Although we've had many dogs over our lifetime and had tried other training methods, we didn't know much about clicker training. When Cheryl explained it, it made so much sense, and the click-and-reward system has certain worked well for our 1-year-old rescue pup. We are also using what we've learned to polish up our older dog's training. (Actually, I think it's we HUMANS who got the most training!) Cheryl tailors the sessions to what your dog most needs, adding reinforcement with each class session while teaching new skills and addressing any problems areas that may have come up. We feel much more confident now about continuing both our dogs' responsiveness with regular practice so they can be their very best. So glad a friend told us about Cheryl! Highly recommended!

Cheryl’s approach to training is a positive, reward based training....no yelling at the dog, no punishment. She believes in replacing a dog’s bad behavior with a good behavior. She is patient and consistent in her training....not only with the dog, but also with the dog’s owner. It’s a 2-step process....canine AND human training program simultaneously. We rescued a beautiful black lab mix puppy from Half Way There. She was becoming a bit rough and aggressive. I felt extremely overwhelmed with the way she was behaving with my daughter, every time she picked her up she would growl. I was at lost and researched on Dog trainers. The trainers I contacted were not within my budget. I absolutely love my furbabies but 1000 dollars for 5 lessons is not something I was willing to spend. Frustrated and lost, I contacted Half Way There. They gave me Cheryl’s number and told me she was great. With just the first training out Mina was amazing. The tricks she taught us when approaching her worked so well, she no longer growles at my daughter. Leash walking is absolutely so peaceful where before I felt I was at a grocery store with a temper tantrum, pulling, barking and growling at other dogs. To the point where she pulled me to the ground. The tricks Cheryl showed me for leash walking had made my 4 mile walks with Mina and out other dog so peaceful. I went from beyond overwhelmed and thought what am I going to do, to I am in love and I have the most amazing dog. The training allowed us to not just be at peace, but absolutely enjoy our time with our Mina and Moh. I cannot give 10 stars but I would. Cheryl is so so amazing, sweet, personable, kind, loving and soft spoken as well as patient when she is teaching us how to train our furbaby! I highly recommend Cheryl and Indian Trail Dog Training!
