If I could give a thousand stars I would!! My husband and I cannot recommend Amy more. She is the third trainer we have hired for our very special, highly sensitive and reactive pup, and I can absolutely say that third time is the charm. One of the many reasons why we love Amy is her ability to effortlessly change direction at the slightest indication from our pup's comfort level or ability. She is not a one method fits all kind of trainer, and will use her expertise to match the needs of the pup and their human together. It's a very special person who not only understands the dog so thoroughly, but can also understand people and train them how to behave, and she is that person! Amy has helped both us and our special boy to better understand each other through really comprehensive education. Seriously, if it's your thing, she has endless books and videos to recommend that really helped us to learn how our dog is communicating with us, which allows us to learn from him what is and isnt working. We still have a long way to go, but finally we feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and see more and more glimpses of it every day. My 12 year old daughter and I had our first in home pet training with Amy tonight. We have a 1 year old Pomeranian. We absolutely loved our time with her! She honestly felt like a long lost friend as soon as she came in our house. She was patient, funny, engaging and professional. I could not be more excited to do our "homework" over the next couple of week and have her back for a follow up visit. Highly recommended!

We have had private training sessions with Amy every other week for about three months. In that time, she has consistently impressed me not only with her approach to teaching our rambunctious puppy to behave, but also in the way she has trained *us* to achieve and reinforce that behavior. Amy is a patient, knowledgeable, effective teacher. An incomplete list of reasons why Amy is so good: * Corrections are always positive * Explains canine and human body language, and how we unconsciously send mixed signals to our best friends * Adapts every lesson to what has transpired since the prior lesson * Suggests gear and reference material to help increase success or to address specific concerns * Uses easily understood analogies to help us understand dog behavior and training techniques Perhaps the best illustration of Amy’s abilities is how our most recent lesson went: Amy brought her dog, Molly, over to work on training our dog, Tana, how to properly interact with and behave around other dogs. When Amy brought Molly into our yard, Tana dragged my daughter over to Molly so they could wrestle. My daughter’s two choices were to be dragged or to release the leash. Once we separated Tana from Molly (by my physically carrying her away), Amy began to show us how to show Tana to walk near Molly without going crazy. We then worked on face-to-face approaches without engaging, and then finally Amy showed us how to get Tana to sit and wait for permission before playing with Molly. Over the course of about 45 minutes, Tana went from completely out of her mind with the *need* to wrestle with Molly, to waiting patiently for permission to play nicely with Molly. Frankly, I was astonished.

My husky Rikku and I just finished up our intermediate class with Amy tonight!!! We learned so much, and I've been able to see a difference in him and hes matured a lot in the classes. He listens a lot better and is able to focus better on me while we are doing training. Amy takes the time to explain everything and while doing the activities, she went around and gave us pointers. All in all, I would definitely recommend Amy!! Cant wait for her more advanced classes!
