In Stride Pet Dog Training LLC

We have three German Shorthair Pointers, our newest addition Harlow is 7 years younger than one brother and 10 years younger than the other brother. That's a big difference! We wanted to make sure we did some great training with her so that she learned how not to torture her older brothers but also to help us to help her tap into her amazing potential. GSPs are working dogs, they are super smart, loving, and have energy that knows no limits. When we first arrived in classes, Harlow struggled with seeing other dogs and wanting to meet them and bark and do all the things we don't really want our dogs to do when first making contact with others. By the end of our training, she was loose leash strolling by, glancing at the others, but nothing more. She was calm, focused, and disciplined, and over all pretty chill. If you know GSPs, "chill" isn't usually the first word, or even the 10th word that comes to mind. 🙂 Every Saturday while we were getting ready to leave for class, I would ask Harlow if she was "ready to go do some work" and she knew exactly where we were going, ears perked, head cocked to the side, excitement and extreme tail wagging and she was at the door crying for me to hurry up because she was ready to go. In short, she loved her sessions as much as we did and the bond it helped us to create with her is invaluable. We will be signing her up for more classes later this summer and instead of a dog park where there are too many variables for us to feel comfortable taking our girl to run and play with others,  we are heading to In Stride's  Structured Play day offering. In Stride requires the pups be vaccinated appropriately and this is huge as it gives us reassurance that our girl is with other pups that are also healthy for group play.  We can't wait to give Harlow her socialization and new friend fix in a safe environment, where we know that the dogs are being monitored, and to see how she does with a full days of full on puppy play time. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Amy and the reactive dog training program. We have now completed two courses, and the progress our dog has made has been truly remarkable.
