Imprinted Paws

I just got back from a walk with Rebel. Before I brought him to you guys he didn’t understand what he was supposed to do on a walk. The worst part was he’d be jumping up on me, biting the leash, and it was an awful experience lol. So I didn’t take him on walks. Well, today is day one of him being home and I just got back from a 1.5 mile walk with him where he did exactly what he was supposed to do and was easily corrected when needed. It was so enjoyable. I was seriously considering sending my two dogs to this training company after hearing about it through a friend, but after learning what she went through, I absolutely will not be moving forward. The trainer was unprofessional, rude, and downright mean. She made my friend cry on multiple occasions. That alone should be enough of a red flag. What really disturbed me was hearing that she called them “disgusting” simply because they let their dog sleep in the bed. That kind of judgmental, condescending attitude has no place in the dog training world. Many loving families share their beds with their dogs and it doesn’t make them disgusting, it makes them human. Whether Valarie agrees with this or not, she should have been more professional about her delivery of her thoughts to this topic. To make matters worse, she showed zero empathy for the very real anxiety that families feel about leaving their dogs in someone else's care. Instead of offering reassurance, she made my friend feel worse for being a little anxious during drop off. If you’re trusting someone with your pet, the bare minimum is compassion and communication….not shame and emotional manipulation. Especially when you have never left your dog for this long before. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a trainer who actually respects both dogs AND the people who love them.

We got two pitbull/shepherd mix puppies from the same little that developed littermate syndrome. Making it very hard for us to train at home. My house was absolute chaos and we feared we would never have a family dog. This was our last straw at training. Leo had already bitten another Neighboor dog! Val and her team did absolutely amazing. We were able to bring Nala home and we are working on rehoming Leo which Val is also helping us do, and did not just leave us alone to deal with issues. I can now say we have a family dog. Who we can take on walks, have company over, eat dinner In peace, and just truly enjoy cuddles and a good time with our new addition to our family. I highly recommend Val and her team.

We moved to the area about two years ago with two young Great Danes. In our previous home, they had a large fenced yard but very little exposure to other people or dogs. Once we relocated, the increased stimulation triggered serious dog aggression—especially when one reacted, the other would follow, making it nearly impossible to manage 300 pounds of dogs. Val didn’t just train our dogs—she gave us a whole new way to live with them. We became better, more confident pet owners because of her work. One of the best parts? Once you’ve completed her training, Val offers boarding at her home. Because of our busy travel schedules, we board with her often—sometimes multiple times a month and even for weeks at a time. Our dogs come home happy, healthy, and frankly a little bored from all the activity and attention they get while there. They absolutely love it. When we drop them off, they run eagerly to Val and her team—it's truly a second home for them. Yes, it’s a financial investment—but it’s one that pays off for years to come. I honestly can’t imagine owning another dog without this kind of training. Val and the team at Imprinted Paws changed our lives, and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
