Impetus Animal Training

I first got recommended here in 2024 when Bennie was a pup. Since then, we've been in classes pretty much every month, and most recently started Henry down the path! It is all positive reinforcement, so you build a strong bond and a strong foundation at the same time. Vivian and Veronica are awesome and have introduced us to great activities and sports. They make the classes fun and positive and help plan what works for you and your pup. For us, we were excited to complete the Canine Good Citizen program (STAR Puppy, CGC, CGC Advanced, and CGC Urban), and my dogs love using their nose for nose work/scent work. We’ve even explored parkour and trick training. One of the things I appreciate most is how they take training into the real world to places like Boca Park, Town Square, or UNLV, so your dog learns to succeed in real-life environments, not just in a classroom. If you’re looking to build a confident dog, strengthen your relationship, and work as a true team through positive reinforcement, I can’t recommend Impetus enough.

We've been with Impetus for over two years. Tibby started with private training at five months, moved on to parkour and now regularly attends AKC & NACSW classes. Tibby is a Cane Corso & they are happy to work with him. We have taken a few private lessons to help with his breed specific quirks like pulling and leash reactivity. It's safe to say, we have been extremely happy working with Veronica & Vivian. They are both so passionate & truly care about every dog and human they work with.

Veronica and Vivian are the most insightful and well-qualified trainers! They emphasize the importance of positive reinforcement and making the training enjoyable for you and your dog. Impetus has truly changed our lives. You begin to understand that obedience training is just as much about learning to effectively communicate with your dog what are desirable behaviors, rather than other trainers’ methods to force your dog to stop unwanted behaviors. They do not support forcing or submitting your dogs to be afraid of you We adopted a mixed breed chihuahua during Covid who experienced anxiety and a lack of self-confidence and Impetus has helped us turn her into a completely different dog with confidence that enjoys people and other dogs. Veronica and Vivian offer far more than obedience training. Our dogs also participate in agility, nose work, and parkour. Your dog doesn’t have to be a sleep all day couch potato! Our chihuahuas are confident and well-behaved that we take them on road trips and even on the plane for overseas vacations. Impetus can make your life with your dog so much more rewarding!
