Rick is a miracle worker to say the least! Owning a reactive dog is so hard and many trainers in the area simply do not know what they are doing, but that is not Rick or the team at Impactful. We cannot recommend them enough for dealing with an easy to love but hard to to train companion!

Our rescue dog is dog reactive and it was severely impacting our quality of life. From taking him to the vet, to out in public, to even just walking around our neighborhood…we were always on edge. I guess that happens when your 85lb boxer mix freaks out and wants to kill every other four legged creature he sees!
From the first free consultation with Rick, to the rest of our training sessions with Heather…I knew we were in the right hands. I remember feeling this weight being lifted from my shoulders when they told me how solvable his problems were. I was a little nervous during our first meeting, given my dog’s track record of reactivity, but quickly realized these professionals had everything under control.
From the first session to the last…the difference in my boy is night and day…he now can let a dog within 6ft of him and not turn into the terminator! (Before as soon as a dog came within his sight it was game over…pulling…wining…and barking)
Now he is calm, cooled, and collected and continues to get better every day. Me and my wife are now the confident dog owners we were striving to be, and that was thanks the Heather. She taught us soooo many skills that we will be able to use with other dogs we rescue in the future!
No more wondering how to train. No more wondering if I’m doing it right or wrong. No more looking 100yds ahead during a walk to see if there is another dog coming and running the other way!
I would recommend impactful canine to anyone who wants to turn their fur baby’s into the dogs they dream of having. With a bit of time, dedication, and help from professionals like the ones at impactful canine it is possible. Me and my wife are eternally grateful.
