Rick at Impactful Canine Training played a pivotal role in our reactivity journey with our Australian Shepherd mix, Kylo. He was patient through all of my handler errors and truly tuned into Kylo, helping us understand him better and strengthen our bond so we could work through the hard stuff together. I’m proud to say Kylo is now in reactivity remission, and we just earned his AKC Trick Dog Intermediate title. Rick also introduced us to tracking, which has been a wonderful way to meet Kylo’s breed fulfillment needs! We even brought our dachshund Obi in for a few intro to scent work sessions, and those lessons are paying off. Obi recently earned his AKC Trick Dog Novice title, and we’re heading to our very first AKC Scent Work trial later this month. Rick’s patience, skill, and genuine care for each dog he works with made all the difference for our family. We’re so sad we don’t live closer, as we would love to be part of more of his classes and sessions. Highly recommend him to anyone looking to build a stronger bond with their dog or work through behavioral challenges!

I can't say enough good things about Rick, the owner of Impactful Canine Training. He has been patient, flexible with my schedule and worked a miracle with my dog, Aubie. Rick has educated me on the type of dog that Aubie is and his particular behaviours. In other words, Rick has effectively "trained" me to be a better dog owner. From lunging and barking to biting, I was at my wits end. After just a few sessions, my dog is under control. As Rick says, "Dogs have a short attention span so consistency is the key". I also came away with other phrases like, "You have a second and a half to reward or correct his behaviour". We still have a couple of walking sessions left but I feel like Rick has given me the tools I need to not get kicked out of my neighborhood because of my dog :) Highly recommended and worth every penny!

My dog went from being inconsistent with basic commands to responding confidently and reliably to everything she worked on. The training methods were clear, positive, and easy for me to continue practicing at home. Not only did my dog learn commands quickly, but I also learned how to reinforce good behavior in a way that actually works. Lisa was patient, professional, and genuinely cared about my dog’s progress. What really stood out was the transformation in my dog’s focus and confidence.
