Rick is such a genuine person, he made training so simple and taught us so much in our 1 on 1s. I already have planned following group classes with him! Get on his books before his schedule fills - you won’t regret it!

As someone who works at an animal hospital, I can honestly say Rick at Impactful Canine Training isn’t just a dog trainer. He teaches YOU how to train your dog. He treats each dog as an individual and teaches you how to train them according to their personality. He works continuously to gain each dog’s trust throughout each session, which was really important for me because my pup is wary of men. He understands there is more than one way of training a dog and doesn’t require you to stick to “just” his methods. He’s awesome at explaining things in a way that you can understand and answers each individual question you have. Rick was also very patient with me and my dog Hagrid because he understands that it’s a learning curve. Not to mention, he’s incredibly flexible with your schedule and can reschedule last minute if need be. It also really helps that he’s located right next door to Dog Splash so you can take your dog for a swim after your session. 10 out of 10 for Impactful Canine Training and I can’t wait to start group classes next month.

We contacted Impactful Canine after attending a dog obedience group class. We struggled with biting and just overall energetic behavior. Rick had a plan specifically for Scout that played into our dogs personality and breed.
Rick has a passion for all dogs but I think he likes the difficult and challenging. He has a very realistic approach and our dog now is a joy to be around.

If you're looking for an amazing trainer that is passionate about dogs Rick at Impactful Canine Training is that person. His love for dogs is obvious through his interactions and training techniques. Jasper and I have attended many training classes in the past so we had our basics down, as long as treats were present Jasper performed. Without treats we struggled. Rick has taught me how to phase out treats and make training more enjoyable. He has also worked with Jasper to help him get over his fear of being restrained so we can make our vet visits less stressful. I recently finished Scent Work 101 class with Jasper, which he truly enjoyed. As a search and rescue handler Rick has the knowledge and tips to get the dogs motivated and have fun while they are working. His class was engaging and filled with lots of information. My dog loved it! I cannot recommend Rick enough as a trainer. He has helped me tremendously with training and creating a stronger bond with Jasper.
