FirstBarkWe started with a dog that I loved but just didn’t know how to train. We had tried other training programs but were at a loss. Then we chose K9. I wish I would have started here. Max became a different dog by the end. We still have work to do but this started us out on a foot we otherwise could not put down. We loved it so much we are going back for more advanced training.

Which training plan is more effective?
Both training plans are very effective; it all just depends on how involved in the training you would like to be. Private training you’re involved in the entire training process and day training we take care of most of the training process for you. Then at pick up we will show you what we have done.

How old does my dog have to be to start training?
We can start in home Private dog training at anytime. If you wanted to do any in facility training with your pup. They must be at least 4 months of age!

What training methods do you use?
We are balanced trainers so we use all four quadrants of Operant Conditioning (positive reinforcement, positive punishment, negative reinforcement, and negative punishment.) and Classical Conditioning (a process that involves creating an association between a naturally existing stimulus and a previously neutral one). We start with the least invasive methods and only go more invasive as needed and with owner approval.

Can't wait to come back for some more intermediate/advanced training. I definitely recommend!
Rob was great to work with and did an excellent job laying the foundations for our puppy to be a good canine citizen! Highly recommend Idaho K9 Academy, especially if you have adopted from Snake River Animal Shelter.
