Hi there, this is Hunter, owner and head trainer of Hunter Canine Dog Training. While I don't have a client in our system by the name of Jack Morley, I believe I know which consultation this review is referring to because I personally conducted the in-home consultation. First and foremost, I'm genuinely sorry that you weren't happy with the solution I recommended. After seeing this review, I attempted to contact your family because I wanted to refund your $150 consultation fee after learning you weren't satisfied with my recommendation. Unfortunately, I never received a response. Since this review gives me the opportunity to provide some context, I'd like to explain why we charge $150 for in-home consultations with aggressive dogs and why the recommended solution in your case was a board and train program. Unlike a standard consultation, aggressive dog evaluations are conducted in person because I need to safely and accurately assess the dog's behavior in its home environment. That means I drive to the client's home, often in the middle of summer, wearing protective equipment so I can evaluate the dog firsthand and make the safest, most appropriate recommendation. During your consultation, your dog displayed multiple aggressive behaviors that confirmed the concerns you described. Based on both your history and my evaluation, your dog had broken out of the yard to pursue people and other dogs, would not allow visitors into your home, could not safely be walked, and bit me multiple times during the consultation despite my wearing protective equipment. Given the severity of those behaviors, I would not have felt comfortable or acted ethically by recommending a few private lessons simply because they were less expensive. My professional recommendation was a board and train program because I believed that was the safest and most effective path toward rehabilitating your dog. Those programs range from approximately $4,000 to $6,000 because they involve weeks of intensive, hands-on rehabilitation and training. I completely understand that this investment is not the right fit for every family, and I respect your decision if you chose not to move forward. However, I will never recommend a service that I don't believe gives a dog and its family the best chance of success. We have hundreds of five-star reviews from families whose dogs have successfully completed our programs, including many with serious behavioral issues. While no solution is right for everyone, those results reflect the standards we hold ourselves to and the outcomes we strive to achieve every day. Again, I'm sorry you were disappointed with my recommendation. I truly wish you and your dog the very best moving forward, and I hope you're able to find a solution that helps everyone live together safely. Have a wonderful day.
