Hunter Canine Dog Training

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Hunter Canine training is absolutely amazing. Our toy poodle was very aggressive, resource guarding and demand barking. It was stressful. Hunter came and met with us, knew the issues right away, and got us set up for the board and train program. Taylor was more than awesome. She was very thorough with not only our dog but with us. She was patient and answered all of our questions, and really knew what she was doing. The frequent communication was so very helpful for us. Experience was so with it and Taylor is a great trainer!

We rescued a one year old Pekingnese, Boo-Boo, who was surrendered to a vet near us. Renee's Rescue coordinated the adoption. We picked her up after she was spayed. We were told her owner locked her up in the garage. She went naturally to me but wouldn't go near my husband for a couple of weeks. She was protective of us when people came over and was very cautious, afraid, and sometimes lashing out at people and other animals. We hired Hunter Canine Training to work with her as Hunter shared she had Human Reactive Aggression. Rosalie was her trainer. She was amazing!!! She communicated regularly to us about Boo-Boo's progress, sharing video's and other information to better help us understand what she was doing and why. It was evident to us how patient and skilled Rosalie was in stopping inappropriate behavior as well as reinforcing her positive behavior. It was great seeing Boo-Boo midway through as my husband and I learned some of the skills, as well at the end when we picked her up. Since we have been home, we have a totally different dog. Visitors have even seen the huge transformation! She walks on a leash calmly now (loose leash walking) and doesn't get distracted by people or other animals like she used to do. We continue to reinforce the skills learned for continuity. We feel like we got tremendous value for our investment. We would HIGHLY recommend this company AND Rosalie. Hunter Canine Dog Training was very helpful in my dog training journey. I appreciate that Willa came to my house for the session and also met me where I took my dog out for walking. They cater to your exact needs and locations. I have used other trainers before, but Willa just clicked with my girl instantly and we saw immediate positive results! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING HUNTER CANINE LLC!!!! Before training, Remy was a tough dog to handle. He did not walk well on a leash at all - he would pull me, lunge at other dogs, and when overstimulated, would bite the leash. It got so bad that there were two instances where he ended up biting the person walking him on the leash. Remy also liked to be "alpha" when it came to my other dog. He ended up attacking her and it was terrifying. Everyone believed I should use euthanasia due to his aggressiveness, but I immediately began looking for someone who could help me save Remy's life. When I called Hunter, he was knowledgable and I could tell that he truly cared because he asked me about the details about all of the incidents. He took notes and asked me questions which stood out to me because other trainers barely took the time to listen to me. I ended up signing up for Hunter's 6-week board and train program with one of his trainers, Rosalie. Rosalie was GREAT at keeping me updated during Remy's training and would send me videos explaining what she was doing and how I could implement it myself when he returned home. During the half way meet up and the take home meet up, Rosalie took her time explaining all of the techniques she had used with Remy and taught me how to repair my relationship with my dog. I have had Remy home with me for over a month now and the improvement is DRASTIC and LIFE CHANGING. Remy walks incredibly well now on a leash and I feel confident that I have full control over him both inside and outside of the house. I can also get him in the car now (it was impossible before) and even took him out in a crowded area. Prior to training, Remy would have completely freaked out in a crowd, but now he was able to walk peacefully and even lay next to me as I had my coffee. Additionally, I have taken Remy to the vet since he has been back and he let the vet touch him!! This is INCREDIBLE because before training, he bit me due to fear at the vet, so I usually had to sedate and muzzle him. He is a whole new dog now (and hes so much happier and more relaxed). HUGE bonus: Rosalie also practiced cutting Remy's nails so now I can finally do that, too! I have nothing but great things to say about Rosalie and Hunter. I am so appreciative for their help. They literally saved Remy's life!
