Huffman K9 Obedience

This place is THE place to go if you want an obedient dog, or a dog with specialized training (scentwork, tracking, K9). The approach they take is fine tuned to the way a dog's mind works and utilizes the natural drive dog's have. They have big agility area and a huge scent lab. A trained dog is a safe and happy dog. Don't be that guy with the untrained off leash dog that has zero recall. Invest in your dog.

A year ago our two dogs would get into serious fights and it was to the point where we were going to have to rehome one. I’ve known Jensen for years through dog training. I knew he has the experience with high drive and aggressive breeds, i contacted him as a last ditch effort. We took 5 classes and put in the work at home. We now have 2 well behaved and obedient young boys. I love the psychology they have figured out for dogs Totally worth every dime

Look no further when you need 1:1 training services and board and train programs. Huffman k9 has been nothing but supportive for our Doberman. They’ve taught me little nuances that I picked up as a dog owner that I couldn’t find myself. My Doberman went through their 3 week board and train when I was in vacation. We received updates, text communications, and phone call check ups. I knew my Doberman would be in great hands while I was away. Jensen and Alayna have been helpful and always within reach when needed. I love that they have a really good community that supports them and proof that their philosophies and practices work. I recommend Huffman because they are as real as it gets.

Look. The few negative reviews on here are disingenuous, they either formed an opinion before actually completing a program or formed an opinion based upon pre conceived notions about balanced training. Likely from internet famous R+ cultists. It’s hard when ethically minded people realize that treats and exclusively positive training will not work for their dog. I went that route; never could have dreamed of using a prong collar before knowing better. What worked for our beagle mix was not adequate to train our cane corso. We found ourselves in a position where the R+ trainers we had hired had entirely failed our corso, and felt under pressure to commit ‘behavioral euthanasia’. Our girl had severe resource guarding that started at only 11 weeks old. We struggled for months thinking we may be able to positive only train her out of it. It made things worse! So much worse! To the point she would attack us in any situation that made her uncomfortable. Huffman k9 and their trainers taught us how to take control through training, use of stress work, obedience and consistency. Coming out the other side she finally trusts us. She went from a 60lb puppy that wanted next to nothing to do with us, to a 105lb sweet, loving, connected and playful dog. We owe Huffman k9 a debt of gratitude. Naomi is an entirely different animal than she was at the start. Yes, it’s expensive, and yes you have to do the work on the daily. Consistency is key. If you want this to work you can’t expect that that the work ends when the session does. We went from considering being forced to giving up a dog we love deeply. To being in such a good place with a well-behaved and loving dog, something we couldn’t had imagined at the start. This isn’t a one size fits all, but seriously after exhausting other avenues with a working breed dog Huffman K9 was what we needed and what our dog needed to live a happy life. I will stan Huffman always. And that’s coming from someone who has always loved their pets like family and never even considered a balanced approach up until our challenges became too great for the methods we had learned to be effective. Go in with an open mind, the results don’t lie.
