Huffman K9 Obedience

In 2022, our then 21 year old daughter, who is neurodivergent, wanted to train Nellie, her 2yo McNab as her service dog. We had been told by 2 other trainers that Nellie was too skittish and they advised against it. Then we found Jensen Huffman. Our daughter (now age 24) is about to move out of our house and into her first apartment with Nellie as her certified service dog ❤️ Thank you, Jensen, for all you've done for B. She and Nellie are moving out in the next few weeks, into an awesome "intentional community" and I know that this would never be happening if we hadn't found you. You've taught B how to tap into her connection to Nellie and that has helped with creating the confidence to take this big step in her life. I can count on one hand the number of reviews I have left, so I don't leave this lightly. Everyone I’ve worked with here has been extremely kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable and supportive in my journey to train my dog, Raider, to be a confident medical alert dog. I am excited to continue to work with them over the course of his life and can’t wait to see where he is at 6 months from now. They are so thorough and Jensen is the best I’ve ever seen at making an animal comfortable around him and helping you understand the root causes and how to fix certain issues. 100% recommend

Huffman came recommended by a neighbor who said they had a good experience. So I signed up for the intro/assessment class expecting some training since it’s listed on their web site and over the phone I was told training would happen. What happened was 1 hour 50 minutes of classroom lecture on basics of dog training. Which is widely available online for free. Leaving only 10 minutes of actual dog training that was totally rushed at the end. The instructor was nice but spent way too much time going over the basic psychology of training. He was even surprised when he realized the 2 hour time was almost over and he hadn’t done any work with the dog yet. I even explained to him at the beginning of the class that I’d like to get into training the dog as soon as possible. I provided an in depth feedback to Huffman regarding my experience and several ways to improve the client experience, improve their business and new client experience. To which they replied - that they appreciated the feedback and would need to “adjust clients expectations”. Not taking any responsibility for the training session being almost non existent despite what I was told on the phone and what’s listed on their web site. And no effort was made to make it right in any way. I went in with eager expectations of high level of not just dog training but building and cultivating client relationship. Sadly, I left disappointed. I believe they are great trainers, lots of good reviews. Maybe I just caught them at a bad time? Good woth dogs but could improve their client experience.
