Honorable K9

Our Goldendoodle Murphy was re-homed to us a little under two years ago. He fit in well with our other two Golden Retrievers, but quickly developed some bad habits - including reactivity and anxiety around other dogs. Murphy had attended training as a puppy at another facility in the Treasure Valley, however none of those lessons seemed to have stuck, and his behavior became more unpredictable. By last fall, we were barely able to walk Murphy, because if he came across another dog he was aggressive and unpredictable, and at 85+ lbs was very hard to manage. There were times when I had to carry him a block or more to get away from another dog. Our daughter has friends in law enforcement, and she recommended Honorable K9 to us based on their work with several area police agencies. We met Tyler and Brenden, introduced them to Murphy and decided on enrolling in private lessons. Both Tyler and Brenden are very knowledgeable, and taught us how to better interact with Murphy to help build his confidence around other animals, and helped reduce a lot of his reactivity. We learned a lot about why he was being reactive and how to control him in stressful situations. If you have a mildly reactive dog, the private lessons are definitely worth the investment. Murphy had certainly improved after completing his lessons, but we were still concerned about how he would react in stressful environments. We needed to build our own confidence with him as well, so we decided to invest in the two week board and train program. Murphy spent two weeks with Brenden and by the time he came home he was much more relaxed and manageable. I wouldn't say he came back as a different dog, just a much improved version of the one we had come to love. Brenden kept us informed on a daily basis, texting with photos and videos of Murphy's progress, along with updates on what he was doing each day during the training. We received tips on what to do when Murphy was scared or reactive, and even though we missed having him at home, we felt he was being expertly cared for at the same time he was learning. Murphy was so much improved at the end of the two week period that my wife is no longer afraid to walk him - something she never would have done before. We still attend the weekly group classes on Saturdays (these are free to all current/former clients!) and Murphy enjoys the time outside and the interaction with Tyler and Brenden. Each day he gains a little more confidence and is a little less anxious, all thanks to the fantastic training he received at Honorable K9. Tyler at Honorable K9 Was amazing with my little Lancelot. When I took him in there, he liked a tug on his leash lung towards kids to go bark and play anything other than listening to me and other dogs. This weekend I took him to a car show that had dogs and kids everywhere. Lots of loud noises and Lancelot stayed right beside my leg walk on a loose leash never tried to pull off. Tyler gave me guidance on how to correct him easily and I enjoy taking him for walks now and into public areas. The picture I share we were at the Oregon coast in the past I could’ve never considered letting Lance off his leash because of dogs and kids I was able to and had minimal recall problems. I cannot say thank you enough!
