Im currently running two puppy’s out of Barrets stud Max. Both are exactly what I look for in a pup. Drive, stamina, Grit, range, bidable, high drive, bird finding upland dogs. Both dogs just turned a year old and have excelled through their first upland season on Sage grouse, Dusky grouse, Ruffed grouse, Chukar, Gambles, Vally quail and Hungarian partridge. This success came largely from Barret. Firstly producing excellent dogs with the genetics to succeed and second from his kind words of encouragement and training advice. I purchased Lucy from Barratt at Home Field Training and Kennels and I have no words that can sufficiently describe how impressed and happy I am that I chose Home Field Training. I have known Barret for a couple years now. I have watched him study plunder some of the great dog trainers of our time Talmage Smedley and others. Barrat has the dedication and skills to train and develop young dogs or old dogs alike. I have trusted him to train one of my dogs. He took the time that was needed and the patience to help develope Percy into a fine hunting dog he is. I recommend Barrat highly.

Barratt trained 4 birddogs for me this year-- 3 English setters and 1 English pointer. All of these dogs had very specific needs and Barratt quickly mapped out a training program for each individual dog. I feel this is vey important. Just like with humans, dogs have specific strengths and weaknesses. My pointer needed to handle better. My 4 year old setter, a great birdfinder, needed to hold his birds till I flushed and shot. Tucker, my 16 month old setter had all the tools but needed to put them together. My young setter just needed a good introduction to the game. He has a gentle hand and doesn't break a dog's spirit or style. I'm really happy how they all turned out and I look forward to working with Barratt again on future prospects. My dogs love their job!
