Joe and Emily at Hodge Canine were amazing to work with and helped us make strides with our dogs training.
We adopted our Anatolian Shepherd at 8 months old and we were dealing with general training issues (listening, counter surfing, etc) but out biggest issue was her extreme reaction to people coming into our home and being very territorial of the house. We did 10 sessions with Joe and a week train and board and it has helped us so that we can actually have people over and know the tools to keep improving this further. We no longer worry about taking her on walks or how she will react at the park and she listens so much better in general and people notice and comment on it. There is still work to be done but we are so happy we decided to reach out to Joe and that he taught us what we needed to know for our specific dog.
He took the first session to get to know her and tailored his approach to what she needed and continued to adjust as he got to know her over the months we worked with him, which allowed us to make sure we were as effective in the training we could be.

We rescued a 2 year old Mastiff back in January. We signed up for 5 in home private lesson with Hodge Canine. We needed help with numerous issues that didn’t appear until Sadie was with us for a few days. Joe quickly identified the issues and gave us the tools to work with her. The training we did with her created a stronger bond between Sadie and our family. Joe left us in a very good place with a concrete foundation for our continuous training. Joe was professional and honest with no hard sell or canned training. He worked with us as unique individuals within the dynamics of our life style. We thank them both for all they did for us. She’s a keeper now.

Love love love Hodge Canine! We got 5 sessions with Joe and when I first booked them, I didn’t think it would be enough, but he proved me wrong very quickly! Our hyper lab puppy has become a very good listener. More importantly, Joe taught me and my husband how to predict our dogs behavior, how our dogs mind works and how to be a lot more patient as dog owners. I thought my dog was hopeless... I watched Cesar Milan for about 7 yrs and it worked for my first dog, but it did absolutely nothing for my Belgian Malinois. The dog was like a demon from hell. Joe and Emily are an outstanding team that totally transformed this dogs life and therefore my life. I could not recommend anyone else but them. A+++ stellar humans

I think the 10 training sessions were more beneficial to us than our pup! We learned a lot about being better dog owners and have the foundational skills to continue training our lab. I have referred a few friends and family to Hodge because Joe & Emily are so professional and good at what they do! Very happy with our training.
