Heart and Soul K9 Training

Sent my 7 month old German shepherd pup Blu to her for a board and train to work on walking on leash and jumping up when greeting people. He immediately felt comfortable with her! He originally was to be there for 2 weeks but she asked to keep him an extra week because he was being a little stubborn. I was so lucky to hear about Sierra as she went the extra mile even though she didn’t have to to make sure Blu was coming home with the best outcomes. He is now walking very well on leash and I don’t think I could have achieved it without her help! Blu also had a blast staying with her and she took very good care of him! She is a very calm and confident trainer which is why I would recommend her to anyone needing help as those are the best qualities for someone working with dogs😊

We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Sierra. After medical issues that caused us to need to separate our dogs for an extended period for treatment, they developed some aggression toward each other. We sent our dogs to Sierra for a month and have continued to hire her every few weeks since (for either boarding or additional training), as the experience was so positive. She is very well educated in training and dog behaviors, and doesn’t just train your dog- but takes educating you as the owner very seriously, too. In a span of 4 months, our dogs have gone from not being able to be in the same room, to today we were able to sit them together on the couch. As a dog lover, I would highly recommend putting your trust in Sierra for training or boarding. You can expect that she will be honest about her expectations of you and the realistic outcomes you can look forward to. She treats our dogs like her own when in her care.

Posting on behalf of my dad, as these are his dogs. He doesnt know how to post reviews. Sierra was professional and great with communication. Answered all the questions we had, as well as stayed in touch frequently while she housed/worked on these 2 pups. They are doing so well with walking, and the commands to get into sled harnesses. She is a fantastic dog trainer with very reasonable prices. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone that needs corrections or any other sort of training. Thank you!

Might be good someday, but not there yet. I believe that this owner/ operator cares about animals, but I believe she “oversold” her capabilities and facility. I boarded 3 dogs for a weekend in March with the intent on bringing them back for a week in May, overlapping with a two week training session for our 6 month old puppy. I will just say that we were less than impressed with the way that experience went, for multiple reasons and I contacted Sierra to let her know I wouldn’t be bringing the elderly dog for the week in May. I have it careful consideration and just couldn’t shake the feeling from our first experience, so we reconsidered our decision to board again. I messaged 4 days ahead of the drop date for the dog being trained and11 days before the week of boarding that we had reconsidered and he wouldn’t be coming for training. Now, here is my biggest issue with this experience. Sierra responded immediately to my text (which is interesting, as prior contact took days for a response) with a phone call telling me I needed to send money for cancellation fees. This is telling, because she didn’t ask why I reconsidered, just wanted me to pay. I never signed a waiver for the 2 week training, or any waiver other than the one for the stay in March. Maturity is a big part of being an adult business owner, and Sierra demonstrated a complete inability to communicate or deal with adversity. When I offered our reasoning for not returning, she began shouting over me and refusing to listen or address those concerns. Even when I told her she wasn’t interested in listening, instead, just talking over me sure responded with “I’m listening but I want to tell you…” Exactly. So you don’t want to listen, you want to tell me. The only thing she wanted to discuss was my financial “liability”. I made it clear I wasn’t paying and she made it clear I wouldn’t be welcome at her business in the future. This was fine by me because there were good reasons I was opting not to return. Again, she wasn’t concerned with those reasons, just worried about getting me to pay. Now, would I cancel the boarding for my vacation with 11 days to find a different plan unless I had a good reason? No! I was willing to overlook the initial issues as inexperience, and growing pains that come with having a new business. I hadn’t planned to address those concerns with her as I really didn’t feel as though my dogs were intentionally mistreated. I just want comfortable with their condition, and wasn’t willing to risk it for a long trip. Sierra’s reaction to this circumstance was completely unprofessional and disappointing, to be honest. She threatened multiple times with this “waiver” she feels is binding for eternity apparently, since there is no date on it. It appears as though she has trained to be a vet tech, and a dog trainer, but neglected to train in business administration. Sierra, I was kind and did not disclose in this review the specifics of the concerns I had regarding the condition my dogs were in after a weekend in your care. I did so because I don’t feel there was intentional abuse or neglect. If you continue to threaten me with waivers ‘R us, I’d be happy to share vet records to clarify my decision to reconsider.
