HCC K-9 Dog Training

I honestly wish we had found Brian and HCC K9 sooner. We reached out for help with our almost 3-year-old working-line German Shepherd, Victor, who is reactive to other dogs. We had already tried multiple in-person trainers and had gotten to the point where we were feeling pretty discouraged. Some of our previous experiences left us feeling judged or talked down to rather than actually helped. Brian has been such a different experience. He has taken the time to help my husband and me understand WHY Victor behaves the way he does and, just as importantly, how our own behaviors, boundaries, and communication can help him. One of my biggest fears with training was changing Victor’s personality. He is such a happy dog, and I never wanted to take that away from him just because there were behaviors we needed to work on. Brian has shown us that we can absolutely have both—a happy dog who is still himself AND a dog with better boundaries and behavior. I genuinely never thought Victor would be able to calmly be in a room with other dogs. Now, we’re at the point where we’ve been working toward having dogs in the room during our private lessons. That may sound small to some people, but with Victor, it is HUGE, and something I honestly wasn’t sure would ever be possible. We still have a lot of work to do, but we are understanding our dog so much better now and feel like we finally have the right tools to help him succeed. Brian has never made us feel bad about where we started—he just meets us and Victor where we are and helps us move forward. I would recommend Brian to absolutely any dog owner, but especially anyone who has a reactive dog or has ever walked away from another trainer feeling defeated. Our only regret is that we didn’t find Brian and HCC K9 sooner.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Brian and his team are amazing. They helped me when I didn’t know what I needed. I lost my husband recently and my younger MAS got aggressive without her dad to guide her. I was going to re-home her and turned to HCC hoping they could help. Brian listened to me and came to my home to better understand my situation and the dynamic between my two dogs. Through a bit of trial and error, the Basic Obedience & Off-Leash courses, along with some Day Care Academy socialization, my home is peaceful once again. Thank you HCC!
