Hawaii Dog Training Academy

Lulu did the 3 week board and train! I got Lulu from the shelter and she is the sweetest dog. However, she was not socialized and was very reactive to her surroundings and dogs while on leash. She is also very stubborn. Eric was one of the only few trainers that even got back to me and met for an evaluation. Lulu immediately responded well to Eric. While Eric talked about how this experience would improve my relationship with Lulu, I now understand exactly what he meant. Since I feel that the bond between us has grown, despite me wondering how that would be possible based on how bonded I felt upon dropping her off! Since her return, her obedience in the house is amazing. I will have her place on her bed and she will not move until I give her the next command. She is now able to heel while walking and I now have the tools to correct her on her walks while walking by dogs rather than feeling overwhelmed. He has been extremely helpful with follow-up questions I have had since her return. There is a to be expected adjustment period after the board and train since her newfound obedience training with Eric needed to be with me now and in our overstimulating environment. Within a week of her returning, I was able to fine tune correcting her and using his techniques and we have successfully not reacted to dogs on our walks (which Eric proved she was capable of doing at his training field). This entire process made me excited about dog training and continuing to teach Lulu & keep up with all the progress she made because of Eric. Lulu & I forever appreciate the work they did! I was introduced to Eric when I reached out to another trainer who was off island, and Eric responded in his place. Before taking my mini Aussie Bernedoodle of 10-months to the board and train, I was stressed. Walking him was difficult since he was reactive to people and dogs, plus he would try to eat every piece of trash off the ground when he had the chance. He had a bad habit of jumping and countersurfing. After picking him up from the board and train with Eric, his manners are so much better now. My mom was so impressed with his good behavior since he used to be a troublemaker. We’re practicing house manners everyday so he won’t regress. I'm glad that I went through with the board and train program since he came home as a calmer dog than before, with better manners!

Our 6 month old miniature Goldendoodle spent a 2 week board and train at Hawaii Dog Training Academy and has made the transition home great! We had a lot of issues beforehand with him barking all the time, nipping at the kids if they run by, and going crazy with any visitor that may come over. Since being home, He does place (where he will stay on his bed with no restraints) and stops before entering rooms. He even stops once we let him outside off leash before he goes off our patio into the grass (there is a little ledge). We have been overly consistent with commands and practicing. Even the kids are practicing place when someone knocks or rings the door bell and releasing him after they leave. There is no barking consistently if we are talking to someone at the door. My husband has been completely blown away with him continuing to show restraint at home (which he told me he was skeptical once we were no longer there with the trainer). We are so happy with the changes Hawaii Dog Training Academy has instilled in our puppy and look forward to see his progress in the coming months.

Absolutely the best trainer on island! Theo is a stubborn mini schnauzer but Eric was able to communicate and train him well. Not only did Theo come home well-trained but we spent time teaching me and my husband on how to carry out Theo's training. After training, Eric is available via call/text for any issues! He even suggested a new diet that is helping Theo's skin allergies. HE IS THE BEST! JUST BOOK WITH HIM!
