Jake came to the rescue when I found myself with three large and unruly dogs that were in desperate need of training. Jake's approach was calm and reassuring, not only to me, but to the dogs. Each of my dogs did several weeks of board and train which gave them the foundation of the basics. Dog training isn't so much about the dogs, but about the owners sticking to the training methods and earning the dogs' respect. I would highly recommend board and train and individual training sessions with Jake.

Jake is friendly, professional and very knowledgeable, we were impressed with his consultation and decided to go on with his program. My 2 labs took to Jake right on the first day. Jake emphasizes that we, as dog owners, need to put in the work between lessons in order for the program to work. We’ve been working with him for a few weeks and we do see improvements in both our labs. With each of our question, he has an answer and instruction on how to correct their behavior. His program is also based on a syllabus which is clear and very helpful. Being first time dogs parents, it is stressful and nerve racking at the same time, sometimes we just don’t know if we’re doing the right thing. Having something as clear and as straightforward to follow does help ease the anxiety level. His advice and techniques are more suitable for us and our dogs compared to other trainers we’ve consulted with. Highly recommend!
Very happy with the training our dog Penny (and us!) received. Highly recommend Jake for any level of training or just learning how to handle your dog. Owners need training too!

We adopted a large size puppy recently and needed help training him. Mocha was dragging us during the walk, crisscrossed in front of us, pulled on the leash when he saw other dogs and ran when he got spooked. We contacted Jake and he came to the house. Jake was firm but very good with Mocha. He showed us how it is done and have us do it. He taught us the techniques. It was then our job to train our dog. The more we trained our dog, the better he gets. Mocha is much better now. We can take him for walks and can actually enjoy the walk. Jake is prompt, friendly, professional and flexible. His training is on a as needed. He doesn’t make us sign up for an 8 week session or a set program. I would highly recommend Jake.
