  • Sports Massage, Dog
    Program details

This type of massage is different than for an averagely active dog. I'm specifically looking for imbalances in your dog's gait (how they walk, trot or run), movement patterns )how they sit, stand, lay down, and get up again) and their muscle tissue. Dogs have a different relationship to pain than we do, and they often won't show when they hurt. So it's up to me to find out if something's brewing under those pumped muscles and shiny fur. Medical review and consultation with a treating veterinarian if necessary is included at no additional cost. · Listed price: [object Object]

If I could give Shelah more than five stars, I would. She has become one of the most important people in my dog Luna's life—and in mine. I stumbled across her Yelp page, which is filled with glowing reviews, and after working with her myself, I completely understand why. Luna and I have entered a new stage of life together. We are shifting our focus to the future, and I’ve realized how crucial it is to prioritize our long-term health, strength, and mobility. Just like people, dogs naturally experience physical changes and muscle loss as they age, which is exactly where Shelah’s expertise has been invaluable. During our very first consultation, she noticed several subtle things that didn't seem quite right and encouraged me to follow up with our veterinarian. That recommendation led to a vet visit that ultimately revealed Luna was dealing with osteoarthritis and hip dysplasia. Because we caught both conditions early, we were able to develop a proactive treatment plan before they progressed further. I truly believe that, without Shelah, I wouldn't have recognized there was a problem until Luna was experiencing significant pain or mobility loss. We are currently 12 weeks into our 20-week program, and the results have been remarkable. Every exercise program is thoughtfully tailored to your dog's individual needs, physical condition, and goals. We meet in person every week, where she demonstrates each exercise, watches me perform them with Luna, provides feedback on my technique, and adjusts the program based on Luna's condition. What truly distinguishes Shelah is just how exceptionally thorough and detail-oriented she is in everything she does. She collaborates directly with our veterinary clinics, reviews medical records, and stays current on every aspect of Luna's health. After each session, she updates our client portal with that week's customized plan—complete with detailed instructions, photos, and videos—so I always know exactly what to do and never have to guess. Her professionalism, organization, and consistency are exceptional. Beyond her technical knowledge, Shelah is simply an incredible person. She is kind, patient, and genuinely invested in her clients. Luna absolutely goes crazy with excitement whenever Shelah arrives—her entire body wiggles, her tail goes into overdrive, and she can barely contain herself. Watching their relationship grow has become one of the highlights of my week. As a wonderful bonus, Shelah also offers canine massage therapy. Whenever time allows, Luna gets a therapeutic massage after our sessions. While it might sound like I'm simply spoiling her, it has actually been essential for relieving muscle tightness and supporting her mobility. Shelah is incredibly skilled at quickly identifying tension or discomfort. Today, Luna is stronger, fitter, more mobile, and carries herself with noticeably better posture and confidence. Seeing her move with such ease has been incredibly rewarding. We can't slow down time, but we can absolutely change how our dogs experience it—giving them the tools to thrive as they grow older. Having Shelah as part of Luna's integrative care team has given me immense peace of mind and helped me be proactive instead of reactive. If you love your dog, don't wait until mobility issues or pain become obvious. Invest in their health before major problems develop. Your dog will thank you, and your future self will be so grateful you started today.

Happy Hounds Massage and Fitness is absolutely incredible! Shelah is truly a professional. When I brought my senior pit bull dog, Miss Piggy, into her for help with her declining muscle strength in the back legs, Shelah's experience was incredible. She immediately noted that we needed to do core strengthening exercises to stabalize the lower spine, which is where the protruding disk was. I had tried accupuncture, but the work Shelah did helped to slow the progression of her neurological disease by strengthening the muscles she had left and of course, Miss Piggy couldn't wait for her massages. Were it not for Shelah, Miss Piggy would have been in her cart sooner. Shelah helped me to fit the custom made cart for the Pig and to help me with Miss Piggy's first spin as dogs can have negative reactions to this weird thing attached to them. Then once she was in the cart, we worked to strengthen her upper body to help pull the cart forward. Miss Piggy loved the exercises we would do on a daily basis. The weekly trainings with Shelah were so exciting to her and she quickly learned what she needed to do. Then the massage was her reward! I cannot recommend Shelah enough to those who are looking for canine physical training for injury protection or recovery and for those who just want to treat their dog to the massage of their lives! They will make fast friends with Shelah and you'll suddenly be wondering why your dog isn't interested in you anymore now that they've found a new best friend. There are many people out there who claim to know what they're doing, but Shelah truly has the inherent ability to understand dogs mixed with the scientific training necessary to understand their unique anatomy and get right to the source of the problem. I can't recommend her enough to help with your precious furbabies!!!
