Happy Dog Institute

When we first adopted our dog Levi he was an aggressive dog with lots of insecurities. After completing our 1:1 behavior training consulting sessions with Emma at Happy Dog Institute (HDI) Levi has become more confident and comfortable socializing with other dogs. Since training with Emma at HDI, Levi learned trail etiquette and even has his own wolf pack now. Emma set Levi and our family up for success and provided us with extremely valuable tools for training. I'd highly recommend Emma's training services for other dog owners that are struggling with aggressive dogs! Her compassion for helping her clients, expertise in the field, and professionalism was top notch.

Winnie has been to three classes and will graduate from Puppy 1 at her next class. These classes have been so good for her, allowing safe and healthy contact with other puppies. While she has loved the classes, which are just long enough to hold her attention, but never bore her, I have learned much more and gotten such great tips and advice from the instructor and other class mates. I highly recommend these classes and am so happy I signed Winnie up for all three of the puppy series classes. Do yourself and your sweet pooch a favor and check Happy Puppy Institute out!

I've had great experiences with both Emma and Heather at the Happy Dog Institute. I've worked with Heather with a normal dog for Fun Foundations training. I gained a solid foundation with positive reinforcement training that set us up for success. I've also worked with Emma with a rescue dog who had major fear and aggression issues. I found Emma to be very knowledgeable and appreciated the advice and insight she gave us and the program she put us on. Don't expect them to train your dog for you, that's not something that any trainer can do unless you're prepared to essentially hire them as a part time employee for an extended period of time. Dog training takes time and consistency. Do expect them to set you up to be able to put in the time working with your dog, use positive reinforcement methods that are proven to help animal minds learn better than stressful punishment based methods (not to say I don't believe there's never a time to reprimand a dog for bad behavior, just saying reprimands don't help anyone learn good behavior which is the purpose of training) and answer your questions.
