Hands and Paws Canine Training

I first found Makayla on face book and contacted her asking if she would help me find a potential service dog puppy. She has been helping me ever sense. She’s extremely kind, friendly and also very knowledgeable. She’s given me lots of good information to think about when looking for a puppy. I am definitely not the easiest customer. I am very picky about what I want but Makayla is great and works with that while steering me in the right direction. I’m looking forward to her help in training and raising my future prospect!

My SDiT Calypso and I are new to the Hands and Paws training family but I have been blow away by the professionalism of Makayla and Jessica thus far. With the last trainer I worked with it felt like they didn’t really care and were mostly out for money and not really working to build solid skills with Calypso, but so far with Makayla she has been very attentive to my needs and wants for Calypsos training. She listened to me thoroughly and spoke like she truly understood what I was saying and encouraged my goals and how I want to further the bond between me and my dog.

Hands and Paws, by far, is the best trainer we’ve ever gone through. We have had the best experience possible with our dog, who before we met them was a terror. Phoenyx went through the service dog program and the in person board and train. Both have been amazing for me and my service dog. We were beginning to doubt Phoenyx would ever be able to be put in her cage, be confident in public, and be able to recall with no issues! With Hands and Paws coming out to Virginia to work with us, she made all those things possible. Phoenyx is now able to successfully work in public with me and alerts to my migraine, self harm behaviors, and heart rate. She also has an excellent payment plan for those who are struggling with money. She was very professional and thoughtful in our home and respected everything. She had an excellent use of the ecollar and prong collar and now I am very confident in myself when using it and Phoenyx actually now gets excited when she uses it!! I full heartedly recommend her and her services for anyone who needs a service dog!! -Abbie

Hands and Paws Canine Training worked miracles with my dog. I got her from a shelter and didn't know how aggressive she would be. Makayla trained my dog and now I can take her on a walk and not be afraid she will try to attack another dog or human. She can even be around other dogs now without any problem. I highly recommend them for all your dog training needs!! Also, be aware of the FAKE reviews. They are not true. Makayla is very professional. She loves dogs and training them. One meeting with her and you will see her passion, patience, and understanding. She loves to help people with all their dog training and service dog training needs. I highly recommend her!!!!

I just started my service dog training with Makayla and I'm extremely pleased with it. She focuses on what my dog and I need to work on to build a strong foundation and relationship with each other. I can already see a huge difference in my dog's confidence and attentiveness to me. Makayla's strong personality is friendly but firm which allows me to grow as a handler myself and fix mistakes that I didn't even notice. I'm super excited for the next several months we have!
