Halo Collar

I have three not spayed and not neutered coonhounds all three years old. I used the garmin tracking shock collar for about a week with the halo collar because even though Halo shocks for 100 feet once the dog leaves but not very strongly. So I would shock them with the garmin collar as well when they ignored the Halo. I leave them at home alone 3 or 4 times a week for 10 hours always free with the dog door. They have 60 acres area full of rabbits, raccoons, skunks and my house is only 70 yards from the asphalt road. The Halo fence starts 30 yards from the gate. For over a year they had not cross the gate with only Halo on!! Halo have gotten so much better in past year, the performance, signal, battery….Yes, you have to work with the device and the dog, it will take a little while but the result is a hound dog free of cage or chain and safe!! It’s a miracle for me and my dogs. The picture shows my dogs waiting for me to drive up the hill to greet me.

For me, this has been an excellent device for keeping my dog in my yard. Is it perfect? No, but I don't believe I have ever owned something that was perfect. Other than having to modify my fence post locations to compensate for the variance between the map on the app and the location of the signal from the collar everything has worked as advertised. It's been over six months now and my pooch has never breached the boundaries I have set up. That's what I bought it for and that's what it does.

What more can I say about this Halo collar other than it’s a game changer… it has single handily altered my perception of dog training. Since purchasing the collar and training my dog to use it properly, it has literally cured my anxiety whenever I would take my dog out into public spaces without the fear of him running off. I now have this overwhelming sense of calmness whenever I place the Halo collar on my dog. It provides me with the ability to be able to take him to my local dog park and beach and track his whereabouts at all times. If you are a dog owner and don’t have Hallo collar for your dog yet, you are one step behind the next generation of dog training. Highly recommended for anyone who loves their dog, and just dogs in general for that matter. Anything else for your best friend is subpar and is worth ever cent.

Learn from my costly mistake and don't make the same. Poor customer service. Took almost 3 weeks to get a collar returned and they also then have a "restocking fee" circa 2000. Plus an additional fee and deduction of shipping both ways. Part 2, collars didn't work well with our dog and with the tiny speaker (great idea but poor execution) that whistle or other sounds from the collar are not great. Dogs are trained to an inground fence but was trying to utilize a new method and be portable. The dogs would listen to the whistle when heard but had no issues walking through the fence regardless of intensity. GPS wasn't great either and would not recognize when the dogs were in the house, leading to unsolicited "whistles" and corrections while indoors. Battery life was extremely poor. This was my costly error, don't make the same one.
