We are a family owned business serving New Braunfels and the surrounding areas. We offer quality K9 training at an affordable price. Lessons are conducted in-home and/or at pet-friendly locations around town, depending on your goals and where your dog is at in the training process. We work with all breeds and training can begin as early as 12 weeks old. Training techniques include both operant and classical conditioning techniques, putting the emphasis on teaching and rewarding, not punishment. We did private sessions where we saw immediate improvement and we’re still working in the doggie class setting to work on socialization. After our 5 sessions and a few classes, our pup was able to go to a local brewery with us. This was a trip not even thought possible when she first came home. We highly recommend Guter Hund!

Bonnie, who is now 7 months old, has worked with David for the past 3+ months through an introductory lesson, followed by three private lessons. She now responds to multiple commands, is off leash around our house and able visit restaurants and shops with us. David equipped us to effectively coach Bonnie, and is available via text for additional pointers. Bonnie is very fond of David. We plan to add group lessons in the future.

David is an incredible trainer. I have two dogs, one is a rescue and is very skittish. I appreciate that David took that into consideration while training him. He is very knowledgeable, patient and has a genuine love for dogs. I am very impressed with the results and what I have learned after our very first session!

I highly recommend training with David! We started our 14 week old Siberian husky puppy with the Basics Program. She just had her final lesson and I’m so impressed with how well she listens. David is very knowledgeable and helped my husband and I come up with a consistent and effective training routine. Wonderful experience!
