Gulf Coast K9 Dog Training

First time getting professional training with one of my dogs. Due to the fact the my dog is a breed that is very large and can be known to be a bit "protective" I felt it necessary to have excellent control of him in all circumstances. Jillian and her staff were nothing short of excellent in helping us achieve that. I feel very confident taking my giant boy anywhere! I wanted to believe my neighbor who assured me that Stella would out grow her craziness by the time she was two! Well 4 wks til Her 2nd bday she added a new behavior to our already crazy walks...showing aggression to approaching strangers. We are so grateful that we contacted Jillian. She immediatlely returned my call and we discussed the issues we were having with Stella. Jillian's positive and calm energy made me feel very reassured and confident. It was bitter-sweet leaving our girl for 3 wks but we knew she was in great hands and we were able to see her progress from the many pics and videos that were posted. We learned that Stella's behavior stemmed from her lack of confidence and insecurities. JIllian showed us many training techniques that we use on a daily basis. Jillian and Joe were suggested to me by the local Humane Society in Manatee county. I'd been working with this shelter dog in upstate N.Y. from July to December on lessening her anxiety, but really needed solid behavioral techniques. Gulf Coast was the answer. They provided me with at home lessons and in person evaluation which made my dog, Hope, a better dog. She looks to my husband and I for direction and seems more confident in her own skin. We spend the winters in Florida and I'm anxious to work with Jillian and Joe upon our return for as many training tips as we can get. The electronic collar will be our next technique to master. I am so impressed with the training our lab puppy, Milo received with Gulf Coast K9. We opted for the 2 week board and train while we were in the middle of moving and my husband was dealing with health issues. I was concerned that somehow our pup would loose his goofy and sweet personality with such intensive training. I was thrilled to have him return with his same loving and fun disposition, yet very well trained and responsive to me. It takes follow up on the part of the owner once Jillian and Joe have done their work. So, one cannot expect not to have to follow through with the training at home. Both Jillian and Joe were great at training the owner as well so there is that consistency. It was well worth the expense.

My wife and I were so fed up and frustrated with our new golden retriever puppy. He is about 10 months old now (8-9 months during training). We had gotten Cooper for our kids as a Christmas present. Little did we know, we know owned a velociraptor. He had all the behaviors you don't want in a dog. i.e., bitting, jumping, counter surfing, disobedience at every step. We were ready to sell our kids Christmas present. Jillian saved the day!!! Cooper now has manners and listens when spoke to. Jillian showed us what we doing wrong (in a loving way) as pet owners, taught us a better way and showed us how to use the tens collar correctly. Thank you Jillian! We did the 3 weeks training session, best money I've ever spent.
