Guiding Canines

I can’t recommend Val and Caleb enough! My dog, BoBo, recently completed their 4-week board and train program, and the experience was truly life-changing. He stayed in their home where he was treated with so much love and care, and I received almost daily updates with pictures, which gave me such peace of mind. They worked on some big challenges, including his resource guarding and crate aversion, and I’ve seen such a huge improvement. He now goes into his crate so much more comfortably and is much calmer around things he used to guard. They also took him to different environments to practice training, helping him generalize his skills in real-life situations. The difference in his behavior has been incredible, and I feel so much more confident as an owner thanks to the foundation they built for us. It’s clear they are not only knowledgeable trainers but also genuinely passionate about the dogs they work with. I am so grateful for everything they’ve done for us, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and effective trainer.

My boyfriend and I are so thankful for Val and Caleb. My dog Romeo stayed with them for 4 weeks for their board and train program. It was crucial in helping his reactivity and confidence in public. We were barely able to walk Romeo around our neighborhood without him barking and reacting to people walking within 25 feet. Now we can take him and walk through downtown Greenville and on the busy Swamp Rabbit Trail. She also helped us find ways to help Romeo feel better when people enter our house. I would highly recommend her to anyone that is looking for a trustworthy and knowledgeable trainer. Val has even followed up with us after the fact and helped with any questions we have or advice for how to keep up with his training.

We have been so happy with our experience at Guiding Canines! We have had such a hard time finding a boarder for our pup that he can feel comfortable at before trying them, but it is clear that Val and her husband know how to handle dogs with an array of personalities and challenges and our dog is exercised and cared for so well. The communication and photo updates are so great, and it’s a huge relief to feel like he’s in such good hands while we’re away!
