Guiding Canines

We recently boarded our 2 dogs with Guiding Canines for 5 days when we went on vacation. I have to honestly say it was a great choice for our dogs as well as us! I did not worry about them once. I knew they were in very capable hands and GC sent me updates everyday. I could tell by the pictures they sent me that my dogs were just as comfortable in GC's care as they would be at home. Yes, really! When we picked them up it was apparent that they had a comfortable stay. They were not stressed AT ALL. That has not been my experience with other boarding facilities or even other trainers we have boarded them with in the past. In the past they always came home stressed. Not this time! GC is an absolutely great place to board your valued family members ❤️ We do not live local to them but we would most definitely trust them to care for our dogs again, no matter the drive.

Guiding Canines was the BEST decision we could have ever made! We were struggling with our 7 month old Cavapoo… to the point of almost re-homing him & breaking our toddler’s heart, but through the 4 week program with Val our dog came back completely changed in the BEST way. We didn’t have the tools or time (between kids & running a business) to train our puppy, but Val helped our family so much. I love that the program integrates training you as an owner also. We met up with the team and our dog weekly to check in and learn what he was learning. The most important part to me was the care and love that Val showed for our dog. We got daily updates and pictures of him having fun and playing with other dogs, going on outings and even cuddled up in the bed watching movies. It was reassuring to know he wasn’t just in a kennel for the most part. If you’re considering Guiding Canines, quit debating and just do it!

Guiding Canines has been absolutely incredible to work with. Val is one of the most approachable, kind, and down-to-earth trainers we’ve ever met. She meets you where you are—there’s never any judgment, pressure, or shame. No question is ever treated as stupid, and you walk away from every session feeling more confident and capable than before. She has a great sense of humor, which makes training feel less intimidating and a lot more enjoyable. Val has worked with several dogs through our rescue, and she’s the first name we give when someone asks for a trainer. Why? Because we’ve seen the results—and more importantly, we trust her completely. She’s the first trainer who didn’t make us feel embarrassed for not knowing something. That kind of compassion and humility is rare in the world of dog trainers. Val is knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely one of the best in the business. 10/10 recommend!
