We became first time dog parents in 2020. Prior to COVID we never considered owning a dog, Ziggy arrived in late June 2020 at the height of the pandemic. When he turned 5 months, we realized that we needed help with training. Our vet recommended Brian. Our first session with Brian was eye opening. We soon learned that we had considerable training to do in addition to working with Ziggy. Brian had us work on simple and consistent commands. He explained that our behavior and discipline was essential in training Ziggy. Not easy at first. Ziggy is now 9 months, 65 pounds and well behaved. Credit goes to Brian for his guidance in all of our training!

Brian rapidly established a seemingly intuitive connection with our dog and, through patient and responsive training (of both our dog and us), brought out the affectionate dog we always knew was there. Refreshingly, Brian is a truth teller and does not sugar-coat his evaluations or critiques. He is the consummate professional. We could not be any more satisfied with what he has done for us and our dog.

Wow!! We have a happy, well-mannered pup named Rooney and we couldn't be more enthusiastic about Brian after his help with her. From the onset, Brian sets you up for success in the future. We had a young pup who was all over the place - biting, chewing, pulling - what puppies do. After time with Brian, training both Rooney AND us, we started to understand what makes a good dog tick. He doesn't just train the dog, he helps you understand how your dog is motivated to make you happy. Using that simple concept, with his tremendous experience, makes training a real joy.

Brian and his team created a great learning ‘home-away-from-home’ for our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Lola. Brian achieved transformational change with Lola - better socialization, obedience, confidence and leash-walking. We welcomed the guidance and advice. Brian and his team are kind, direct, experienced, fun and wise. Lola and our family are reaping the ongoing benefits of our investment in Great Pets training.

Brian Kilcommins and Great Pets is the best gift we have ever given our dog. Not only does she love Brian and being up at their expansive and beautiful property, she has become the sweet, well trained dog we always wanted. Brian is ultra-responsive, keeping us updated on progress with daily videos and pictures and his care and knowledge regarding dogs is nothing short of extraordinary - he literally wrote the book on dog training! He is a pleasure to deal with and cares for our puppy as if she were his own. We cannot say enough amazing things about Brian and Great Pets and choosing them to help train and care for our dog has been the best thing for her, and for us.
