Gratitude Farms

Horrible person. Should not be an ACO. For those who are still following the story of Duke the coonhound: A while back it was brought up at an East Bethel city council meeting that the animal control officer, Tammy Gimpl of Gratitude Farms, was not in compliance with a city ordinance regarding commercial kennel on residential property. The city council didn’t seem bothered by this. Now come to find that the IUP (the permit that allows the ACO to run her business from her property) had actually expired in 2009!!! And hadn’t been renewed. They just renewed her contract for her Animal Control services last month and nobody bothered to make sure she had a permit and was operating in compliance with that permit. The contract and permit are with the same city for crying out loud. There wouldn’t be a lot of leg work to figure that out. Also, having a commercial kennel (boarding other people’s dogs) is not allowed per the IUP and city ordinance. She has in fact been running a commercial kennel on the property for a number of years. Well technically it didn’t violate the IUP since she didn’t actually have one. None of this worries East Bethel city council since it was just a simple oversight that she was operating her businesses without a permit and also granted city contracts without any oversight or investigation on whether her services were operating within her permit. So tonight to fix the oversight they granted her a new IUP. This IUP does not allow for a commercial kennel on residential property. Nothing was said about the fact that she has been running one all this time in violation of the IUP. They also granted an IUP for her dog food business as long as it isn’t retail. She is selling the dog food to people..... that’s retail. People drive to her house to BUY dog food from her. The level of corruption in East Bethel is truly remarkable and disturbing. Anyone who has been denied an IUP in East Bethel should take note and speak at the next meeting. Ask them why it is OK for some businesses to be in violation of the permit and continue to do business for 9 years with it being expired and just be given a free pass to do what you want when another business is shut down because they have 6 cars in the driveway. Unbelievable!!

Gratitude Farms/Tammy has been taking care of our pets through her boarding facility for about two years, she does a phenomenal job with both of our dogs and our dogs get so excited to go there and see her. Tammy is so great with our pets and it is very evident that she truly loves animals. The negative reviews on this site should be ignored. Tammy also provides animal control for our city and these negative posts are off one person that didn't want to pay the full impound fees to get her dog back. The people reviewing have not actually done business with Gratitude Farms. Tammy came to us on high recommendation and we will continue to use her services for our dogs.
