I really appreciated the communication and updates throughout the entire process. My dog came home with much better manners, stronger obedience, and skills that we can continue building on at home.
If you’re looking for a professional dog trainer who genuinely cares about the dogs they work with, I definitely recommend the 6-week Board & Train. 5 stars all the way! 🐕⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our experience with this training was amazing. Noe only did the dog learn but the whole house learned a lesson during this obedience experience. My pitbull Von is exactly everything I wanted and more after his 6 weeks training experience.

Absolutely fantastic. My dog Blaze (Belgian Malinois) was the worst on leash and had high reactivity — he barked at everyone walking by and constantly wanted to bark at and play with other dogs on our walks. He also had no fundamentals. He didn't respond to his name and had no recall.
We enrolled him in the 6-Week Board and Train program and picked up the e-collar as part of it. He came back a different dog. Ten times better and genuinely trained. He now has solid recall, is off-leash trained, will hold a down, and knows place. He doesn't shoot out of his crate or bolt through doors when entering or exiting. He no longer barks at people or dogs on our walks — he completely ignores them. He understands "break" as his release command, so he's able to just be a dog while also being a competent, true member of our family. He's even got street boundaries and knows the difference between the sidewalk and the street.
We're so excited to start taking him camping and hiking with us off leash. Thank you to Josh and his team for an amazing experience. Looking forward to training him further and getting him to the next level and beyond. Thanks, Josh!

Before Toby started training with Mya, I was honestly embarrassed to take him out in public. He would bark at anything that moved and pull so hard on the leash that I would end up with leash burns on my hands. As a Husky, he’s incredibly strong, and every walk felt stressful instead of enjoyable.
Dropping Toby off for board and train was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I was so emotional leaving him, but Mya made the entire process so much easier by constantly sending me pictures, videos, and updates. Seeing how happy Toby was and watching his progress helped reassure me that he was in the best hands.
Because we live about 2½ hours away, Mya recommended visiting Toby as often as possible for training sessions. Unfortunately, making that drive every other day wasn’t realistic for us, so we were only able to visit about once a week. Even with that, every visit amazed me. The progress Toby made was unbelievable.
I still remember seeing him during our first training session. I was emotional because I missed him so much, but I was also shocked. He was so calm, focused, and well-behaved that I honestly questioned if this was the same dog I had dropped off! More importantly, I could tell how happy and comfortable he was with Mya, and that gave me so much confidence in both her and the training process.
One thing I appreciate most is that Mya wasn’t just training Toby—she was teaching me how to become a better owner. She took the time to explain how to handle different situations and gave me the confidence to work with Toby on my own. Before training, I was terrified to take him anywhere crowded because I was afraid he’d bark, pull, or jump on people. Parks, farmers markets, and other public places were something I completely avoided.
Today, that’s no longer our reality. Thanks to Mya, Toby has become a dog I can confidently take out in public without worrying about his behavior. I never thought we’d reach this point, and it’s completely changed our lives. Walks are enjoyable, outings are fun, and I finally get to experience life with Toby the way I always hoped I would.
I truly can’t thank Mya enough for everything she’s done for Toby and for me. There is no one I trust more with my dogs. Whether it’s continued training, boarding while we’re out of town, or simply asking for advice, Mya will always be the first person I turn to. If you’re considering training with her, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for Toby.

Bear’s training journey was completely different from Toby’s, and honestly, it changed the way I understand dogs.
We brought Bear to Mya because of his reactivity and aggression toward other dogs. At home, he was a very calm dog and walked nicely on leash, but if another dog walked by, everything changed. I constantly worried that he would react or try to start a fight. Because of that, I planned my entire schedule around avoiding other dogs. I would only take him on walks very early in the morning, in the middle of the afternoon, or late at night, hoping we wouldn’t run into anyone. Walking him became stressful because I was always on high alert instead of enjoying our time together.
Bear was also very male-dominant, as Mya explained to me. She took the time to teach me what that meant and how it affected his behavior. Once she explained it, so many things finally made sense. I stopped seeing Bear as a “bad dog” and started understanding why he reacted the way he did.
Another issue we struggled with was food reactivity. Before training, feeding him honestly felt like we had to put his bowl down and quickly walk away. We never felt comfortable being near him while he ate. After working with Mya, that’s completely changed. We can now put his food down, stand near him while he eats, and trust him. It may seem like a small thing, but for us, it was a huge milestone.
Bear also pulled on the leash, and I knew that if he ever got off leash, I’d probably be chasing him. The hardest part wasn’t that he was impossible—it was that I didn’t know how to communicate with him. Bear has always been a smart dog and a good listener, but I didn’t have the knowledge or the tools to help him succeed. Mya changed that. She didn’t just work with Bear—she taught me how to work with him too. She showed me how to handle situations I used to avoid and gave me the confidence to be the owner Bear needed.
Leaving Bear for board and train was incredibly difficult. He had never been away from me for more than a day, and I felt so alone dealing with his reactivity. I honestly believed that no one would understand what life with a reactive dog was like. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Mya had experience with dogs just like Bear, and for the first time, I felt like someone truly understood what we were going through instead of judging him.
Today, Bear is a completely different dog. He’s not perfect—and I don’t expect him to be—but he’s confident, manageable, and so much happier. More importantly, I understand him in a way I never did before. Our relationship is stronger because I finally know how to communicate with him instead of just reacting to his behavior.
Mya didn’t just train Bear—she gave us the tools to build a better relationship with each other. I will forever be grateful for the patience, knowledge, honesty, and care she put into helping him. I trust her with both of my dogs without hesitation, and I can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for someone who truly understands dogs and wants both the dog and the owner to succeed.
